New Grower Needing Help 53N

Hey all, i'm new here to the forums and new to growing, i'm hoping to have my first ever grow this year. I've always admired guerilla growers therefore i've decided to have my own little crop this year.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips or pointers and generally help me out and i'll keep you all informed of my progress. I know some stuff about growing from scanning forums such as this and others.

I live in the uk, my lat is 53N, i live in quite a large city near the coast but i think i should be able to find a secure plot to grow or would you consider it too risky? I'm not 100% sure on what strains to pick yet although, i've been thinking some Guerrilla's Gusto from Sensi Seeds and KC36 from KC Brains. I live with my strict ass parents who would never allow me to grow weed indoors :hide:so basically the whole grow will have to happen outside as vegging the plants indoors at first just isnt an option also another thing the plants must be is low maintencance as i reckon i will only be able to check on them every 4-5 days or so. from what i can tell, these are good hardy plants that can survive the climate i live in but i am completely lost on quite a few things such as what to do when the seeds have germed etc

please any help or pointers will be a biiiiig help.

For a first grow, keep your goal simple: harvesting some good smoke. Learning all of the finer details of growing will come with time but they wont be accomplished in a first grow. Initial success is the best incentive to learn more.

1.Stay small and simple. 2 or 3 well grown plants can provide you with more smoke than 20 poorley grown specimens, even though there is much more work in growing 20. Focus on getting just a few plants successfully harvested for your first grow.

2. I would buy 5 femmed seeds to grow with if possible. Without fems, you will have to plant and grow 2x as many plants and then cull the males. Its too soon in you carrer for that.
Buy 5 femmed seeds that will finish at your lat,(biddy early is one), start them in cups 2 weeks prior to planting date and then plant. Much simpler

3. Soil preparation and soil understanding is learned from experience that you dont have yet and you wont have until you get a few grows under your belt. For now.......
Dig 4 holes, 50cm w X 30cm deep and fill with a decent potting soil from the store. Miracle grow/pro mix or any quality soil will do. You will need 6-7 gallons of soil per hole for a total of about 25 gallons of soil.

4. Plant a seedling in each of the 4 holes. If you plant them and dont use snail prevention, the plants wont be their when you return, no exceptions. Using organic products that contain bloodmeal or other animal byproducts and/or alfalpha or grain byproducts will inspire critters to dig up your plants. Avoid them at this point in your carrer. Later.

5. If there are deer and rabitts, you may have to fashion a wire cage for each of the seedlings until theyre big enough to fend off attacks. The sticky at the top of the page will recommend designs.

There is one critical aspect of site location that you need to consider.
The southern sky. All northern grower should consider where the track of the sun is in the southern sky. Lets say that im going to plant my plant next to a bush for concealment. On the north side of the bush, my plant is in the shade all day long and wont grow much- maybe 3-4 ozs. 2 meters away on the south side of the bush, my plant gets all day sun and reaches 3 meters tall with 500 grams of smoke on it. Always know where the souther sky is at..

I also suggest that you start another legal crop, like tomatos or squash, to conceal your real gardening interest from parents. That way, it's no big deal if you have things like fertilizer and gardening tools laying around. Obviously the veggie crops would be grown in a completely different place.

Thanks for the help guys, do you have any suggestions as to a way i could grow the plants for the 2 weeks without getting noticed? and i have heard alot of good things about guerilla gold, but i cant seem to find it on any seedbanks :( also if i need feminized seeds then i probably have even less chance

I transport my seedlings to the sight as soon as theyve popped through the soil. I purchased a clear storage box that holds about a dozen cups and is about 1' deep. I half bury the box and put my seedlings in it. If we have a stray frost, i can rush out and put the clear lid on and the plants are fine.

Or, you could just wait until planting time and plant them as soon as they come up-- theyre tender though. Use bug care

If your parents trust you enough to give you some space, turn a drawer, or a cabinet into a small vegging place. Pop on a small scrubber if you don't have any other plants growing. You can still smell that chlorophyll-y smell even if they're youngins.

Spend 30$ and buy the bible by mr. cervantes.

Cheers :D.

It's hard to find unbaised information, even in the bible. I've found some partial truths and some fallacy in that book, but it's very good none the less. Unfortunately, unlike most professions, you can't learn everything about growing good quality dope with literature, everyones location is different, and everyone needs different needs. Like said numerous times, every possible factor that you can think of will play a role in the developement of your girls. Stay green my friend. Post pics when the time comes :)!

Read as much as you can, check out micro growing forum..so you will get idea how to start your seeds indoor...belive me,you must start them indoors a least for a two weeks,so go figure it out,how and where..some old PC tower, carton box etc
Strains-Mandala#1,KC33,Guerilla Gold and all autos, for first season go with KC..cheap as chips, you just cant go wrong...
P.S. I have that book, not bad,but this forum is much better, just read..and then again you will learn by doing your grow..better spend that money on seeds mate
