now take a couple bong hits, and let the worries of the world melt away.... this is my chill spot.

This, my first small grow, a 4x4 Hydrohut that lives right next to my bed, miles away from my "real" grow room/job. I got the tent when I moved into my new house, so i could have a little headstash garden that would be more for "fun" than for "work", if you know what i mean.

I treat this garden as a hobby garden, I am not worried about yield. This is my space to grow the headiest strains as well as i can, because the judges will be me and mine. It is also a place to experiment, to try new things, and to learn what works and what does not.

setup:

-1000W Hortilux superHPS, magnetic ballast
-8" Radiant reflector (hydrofarm)
-8" Vortex fan
-Reading Lamp Dimmer
-4x4' botanicare flood table
-40gallon reservoir
-396gph pump flooding for 10 minutes every 4 hours with lights on, and once at night.

-Floranova Bloom 10ml/gal, Floralicious Plus 1ml/gallon

The strain I am growing right now is a clone-only version of White Widow, also known around here as "Piko's Poison".

35 plants (6 by 6 with one missing where the ebb/flow fittings are)

Medium is 50/50 Hydroton and Rockwool cubes/croutons

half the pots are 1gallon smartpots, half are 6"x6" black plastic. it's an experiment.

I understand your thinking. I butchered a goat this morning. But, I did it away from the other goats. A fact of life, from the pasture to the freezer... Tasty-looking feller, near 50 lbs on the hoof, 35 dressed. Our family counts on the meat, & I like knowing what good feed went into it, that it had no diseases, etc. Safe food for my family.

I feel exactly the same way about my weed. I grow organic all the way!

thats hardcore shit. i hope to someday have land to raise my own livestock and grain/vegetable/ganja crops. i want to be completely self sustainable and get off the grid for real.

props for doing it.

BTW i grow all organic too, though not with my indoors anymore. indoor gardens are artificial anyway.

That could cause a mob to form in your neck of the woods, or worse a city counsel meeting. I'm a big fan of experiments I'm subscribing. Spent a few years just up the hill from HMB; designing drugs in Si valley and had lots of buds up by da hills above SC. Lots of good mountain biking and surfing down there...

I have been enjoying 1000w personal grows since i quit growin commerc. a # of weed that you can have all to yourself has so many options. hash, buds, foods, drinks, tinticures... hell you can play santa with it. I grow em in soil so i can do different strains but this clone widow sounds pretty cool.

nice shcrews i too plan on getting a tent for my headstash or testers. Which one did you grab? and is the 8" overkill? I see the temps are at 80+. And do you like the radiants over the cool sun xl? my buddy swears by the radiants but im a sunsystem dude.

sorry for the lack of updates: my camera died, and the first run was a bust anyway


final yield: ~275 grams including popcorn ... worst yield i've ever had.

what i did wrong:

-plant count/veg time:
my SOG sucked. i used 35 plants vegged for 1 week, i should have used at least 50 or vegged longer. there were BIG GAPS in the canopy

-didn't monocrop:
I got clones from a buddy, and since i didn't have enough i decided to throw in a couple blueberry clones that i had laying around.. little did i know that the blueberries would do NOTHING, not even growing more than 3 inches or so. plus they gave the white widows Powdery mildew.

I finally pulled the blueberries out at week 5, at about 6 inches tall.

-mites:
the clones i recieved from my "friend" had sum bugs... i din't get rid of them. go figure.. wasn't too bad though, the mites don't really like the White Widow i guess.

overfertilization:
-i didn't have an airstone or pump circulating my res, and when i took nutrient readings i just checked the surface. The Floranova likes to sit on the bottom, so I thought i was at 1200ppm when it was really closer to 2000!



-oh well. next run will be Grape Ape or OG Kush, not sure yet. probably a ScrOG with fewer plants, and i'm thinking either straight hydroton or coco. updates coming soon hopefully. oh, and i got a new camera, so pictures too.
