i was thinkin about getting some of nirvannas ak-48 and super skunk prices are hard to beat hope they take off when flowering is induced. also your grow room is a bit cold 65F
should be about 10 clicks warmer

That is true IC BUDZ, but there's not really anything i can do about it. But, as the year gets warmer outside, it will in turn warm up my grow tent as well. So, it'll be better in another month or two. It actually sits at around 70ish degrees most the time, but I had the door open for a while before I took that pic.

So far the AK48 hasn't impressed me, but im sure the slow start was a combination of things, including the cold.

Thanks for stoppig by IC BUDZ.

Hi opt,

I hope you ll get lucky with your ak48 seeds from nirvana, I did not myself. 2 or 3 years ago i gave a shot grow with these seeds and got a really good yield but the weed wasn t really good.

Best of luck anyway

An this is surely the reason why my current grow is made of 3 AK47 from serious seeds cos could not stay on a "bad experience".

Frosty AK

Looks awesome Max!

As for as an update goes. I got rid of the 2 AK48's that were sickly and simply would not grow. The rest are all confirmed females from preflower inspection, besides one slower growing AK.

The 2 PPP's that I topped are exploding with growth, very vigorous plants. I super cropped the PPP I dubbed "The Monster", from the two shoots that appeared after topping it.

The clones I took of this plant seem to be doing fine with what little care they have been given.

I think I'mma go ahead and flower all of em in about 5 days. I will transplant the plants that are already in the 1 gallon containers up to 3, then switch the lights.

Pics to come in a couple days!

Will try to get some pics up later this afternoon.

I have 6/7 confirmed females that showed a couple days ago. The 2 power plants both showed sex a long time ago... the bigger one around day 20 from seed! The clones seem to be staying alive, hope I see roots soon.

I feel good about the next couple months!

No pics today guys, sorry.

But on the update, the biggest PPP is a bushy monster. Also, 1 of the 2 clones I took from it are starting to show the start of rooting! YAY

I've also have a tad case of what looks to be a calcium defiency on the biggest pure power plant, so when i watered it today I gave it it's usual dose of Liquid karma, along with 1/4 teaspon of cal mag in a quart of water, and some molasses. The tips on some of the older leaves are starting to brown ,which gave me the idea of the calcium problem.

It hasn't slowed the growth though, i can tell you that much. After supercropping the top 2 stalks, the others caught up nicely, I can't wait to show you my bush!

The stretch hasn't started yet, seeing as it's only been a couple days since the switch, but I'm sure it's gonna start soon.

I will be transplanting my remaining plants that are in 1 gallon containers into 2.5 gallon containers tomorrow. I watered them today, so tomorrow they should be ready.

6/7 girls... i think i might just toss the one that isn't showing yet, it's slow growing and has some sort of defiencey as well.

Try to get pics up tomorrow or the next day guys!

Found my lone male the other day, so that leaves me with 6 females! 2 Pure Power Plants, 2 Cherry Bomb II's , and 2 AK-48's.

They all are coming along nicely now, starting there stretch after a few days in 12/12. I was going to transplant the gals in 1 gallon buckets into larger, but, i'm having problems getting them out of there pots.

For one, it doesnt seem they are root bound enough, and two, they just dont seem to want to slide out worth a shit, so i'll just let them be for now.

I hope that doesn't take too big of a toll on my yield down the line...I don't know what else to do but to uppot them when they sure are root bound.

I have my camera in hand, right now, so i'll take some pics later on today!

MY AK48s have started to really pick up since I started to use the Fox Farm Grow Big on them. They are at 6 to 8 inches now while the Bubblelicious and strawberry bubba kush are all around 12 inches. I have topped all but the Ak48s because of their size and slower growth. They appear to be slow veggers until you get to veg week 5 or 6. Were your Ak48s slow veggers? They are starting to look much better now and I like that cherry cough drop smell on the one. Good luck.

No, I didn't ever top them because they were so slow. For the first week in flower, from what i can tell it looks like both will have the standard 1 huge bud a piece, unless they really blow up here in the next couple weeks.

The Pure Power Plants are totally different. The biggest one has tons of growth, very bushy from topping and super cropping. But the 2nd pheno I topped as well and has 4 main stalks that will produce the most bud. Such a different variation in the 2.

The Cherry bomb's leafs are huge, size of my hand, almost double compared to the others. They both kinda look the same, their lower shots are starting to catch up without any training etc.

No distinctive smells....Yet! I hope for the cherry pheno with the AK48 as well. Not sure the taste/smell the power plants should have but they are the stinkiest of the bunch, classic skunky smell.

I couldn't get pics again today, wife had camera. Will try tomorrow!

So I finally got pictures up, these are from day 13 of 12/12 which was yesterday!

First up, a pic of the temps etc.

Next 3 are of the PPP's, the biggest one is the one i named "The Monster" weeks ago.3rd picture is a side shot of the smaller pheno. Looks like she'll have 5 main stalks or so.

These 2 are the AK-48's

And Last up is the Cherry Bomb II's! 3rd is a Group shot.

I can't really put any variations in the smells yet, but im sure they will become more distinct as the weeks go on.

I'm having trouble popping the last AK48 out of it's pot to transplant. Anyone have any special tricks they do for transplanting?

I feel like im going to rip it from it's roots , but i know it needs more room. flipping the pot over just results in all the medium getting dusted on my now forming buds.

What size pots are you moving from and to?

I've only really transplanted out of solo cup, but smaller pots should work just as well....just make sure you let the medium DRY OUT before transplanting, and over a surface that can get messy, cradle the stem between your fingers just above soil level, turn the whole thing upside down, squeeze and jimmy the sides of the pot until it comes loose as a whole.

It brings to mind the idea of getting the sand out of a bucket when you're building a sandcastle.

Anyways, yes, just make sure you let the soil dry out before the transplant.

It's messy, but it's not terribly hard.

Quick update,

The buds on all plants are really starting to form fast now. The monster has hella tops. The other power plant has 5 main stems that will have fairly big colas. It's weird how different they are from each other, yet how similar they are at the same time. Pheno 1 will have 8-9 tops it looks like. But pheno 2 will have 5 but bigger tops. I hope the smoke is as primo as I heard it is.

The AK's are looking to be budding maybe the fastest of the bunch, and it looks like they will both mostly be a single cola, christmas tree shape.

The Cherry bombs lower arms are slowly starting to creep towards the top. Hopefully they will catch the top and develop more into a bush, it starts to look like they might.

No distinctive smells that I can pinpoint yet. They all smell generally the same. Then again, I admit, my nose isn't the best. Espcially with flowering plants. They all smell "green" and sweet to me.

I think I will go ahead and top dress some Jamaican bat quano on a couple of them today, see how it goes. We're a little over 2 weeks in flower, so the stretch should be slowing in the coming few days.

The biggest pure power plants lower fan leaves seem to be burnt on the tips. I'm fairly confident it isn't over feeding. It has not slowed her at all in terms of growth, so I just won't worry about it for now. I'll keep giving the normal liquid karma, and tiny doses of cal mag like I have been. I've also been giving molasses to all the girls every other watering or so. Seems to have helped. I originally diagnosed it as a calcium defiency, which is very well possible. I don't give them a very big dose of cal mag at all. So the tips that are burntish might just be the same tips I noticed a couple weeks ago. It doesn't seem to have spread or anything. Or hell, it might be the result of the lower leaves not getting much light. Like i said, nothing is slowing, so I won't worry to much about it for now!

I'll try to get pictures up later, some close ups if I can figure out this damn camera!

Thanks for the tip Bork, that's basically what I always do, but for some reason this time it's a little more tricky. I've never had problems transplanting until this grow. I'm currently in 1 gallon bucket with that one plant, but i'm already over 2 weeks into flower so I might just leave her be.

Nnep, Ya man, that power plant is a fucking monster now. Thinking back when I took a look at them yesterday, I would say she has at least 8 quality tops, by far the most out of any other plant. But, I didn't supercrop any of the other ones, just the one, because she was just so damn vigorous. I wish my clones would have stayed alive! I have a good feeling about her.

Hello all,

No time to get pics today, but things are def moving along. The 2 cherry bombs are extremely stinky and smell like a powerful skunk, with a tint of some fruit, can't put my finger on it exactly.

The Power plants both smell the same, like Cat Piss. Anyone ever found a cat piss pheno in power plant? i dont know.

The AK's on the other hand are packing on the hairs, but they are very blah smelling, almost nothing to them yet.

There are still signs of a calcium or potasium defiency it looks like on a couple of them. I hit them with a slight top dressing of some kelp meal along with some Jamaican bat quano. I'm talking very small dose. 1 teaspoon each plant if that. We'll see how they respond!

Hey OPT, just checking in. Your PPP's dont seem to be to different from mine by the looks of it. they both have nice tight node spacing, similiar looking leaves, jsut the differnt smells going on. Ill get a better smell next time i water, as its tuff do get a disctint smell when running muiltiple strains at once.

sednal - sounds good bro.

Update for today is nothing much. They all seemed to enjoy the top dressing last waterings, and are packing on the hairs.

Yesterday, I watered all of them but 1 with some Liquid Karma, a heavier dosage of Cal/mag and some molasses.

They seem to be done stretching, none of them really shot up a lot. They all about doubled in size so far besides the AK48's. But, on the cherry bombs the lower branches are still catching up with the top, not sur how long they will stretch.

Next time with some pics,
