WoW, forgot all about this thread. Currently on my F3 generation of Lifesaver, just put three females into flower. Will post pics once they get going a little bit!!! Very frosty Saver you've got going there JiP!!!

This monster was only vegged for 14 days and is on day 22 of flower right now and shes a monster lifesaver! I put a little pollen on a few of the budsites because these are genetics i want around!

One of my favorite phenos i had found in the first bud pic. The 2nd and 3rd are a bro of mines purp sativa pheno he had found. I kept the purp around the garden for a bunch of runs, to this day! some of the best chron ive smoked to date! best flavor and potency

Beautiful lifesaver nuggs HKM! I remember my buddy running these beans
back in 02. I ordered them for him and had them sent to my safe addy.
Anyway, he kept 3 girls outta the one pack. 2 were very nice but the third sativa leaning girl was damn near perfection. Taste, smell, and potent as all hell. People in my set still talk about that bud. Thanks for taking me back with those shots bro!

Well I wouldn't dare call myself a professional breeder or anything close to it. Right now im still pretty much experimenting with the strain to see what she can really do... A hobby of sorts, and since this is the only BOG strain (and I was inspired by BOG to start growing with those frosty ass pictures of giant bogglegum trees he blastered all over OverGrow, R.I.P) I had the chance to purchase/try im gonna work with it longterm. But I do have an idea of what I want to produce out of the lifesaver. The traits that im trying to bring out are, in no particular order:

1.) A fast finishing strain, complete in under eight weeks. 52-54 days anber would be ideal
2.) High yield, with hard compact nugs
3.) Sheer potency isnt extremely important to me, and not my goal. Rather id like a well balanced, social smoke. Something that can be enjoyed without frying the brain
4.) Sturdy branches. Should be able to hold its own weight
5.) Low oder. Really want to have a stealthy plant that can produce quality without stinking up a house
6.) A nice fruity/berry taste that translates well... I like to smoke blunts:smoker: so i'd like something that can compete (and dominate) the flavor of the tobacco

To some it up, im looking to create a lifesaver that can be grown commercially and produce some good quality nugs. Based on what i've seen so far, no reason to believe the saver cant be a good commercial strain. Please note that this is just one "line" of lifesaver that Id like to put together. The thing that I think makes LS so great is that its such a un-worked hybrid, there are tons of different phenos and directions to go with it. Big shouts to you, HindukushMaster, that purple pheno looks incredible. People used to freak when I whipped out the purple buds :yoinks:. Always good to have some purp around.

Now on to some pics...
:woohoo:

I ended started about 5 of the F3's to see what they would produce, got two females. Today make day 47. The above pheno looks to be a good one. Extremely hard buds with no signs of mold (and when I think about it ive never had a single lifesaver produce mold). Nice resin production, wonderful berry smell when handled, thick branches and trunk. Looks good for SOG, yet the lower branches shoot toward the light a create nice hard mini colas. Should finish fast. Its destined to meet one of the C99 F6's from Mosca Negra i've got vegging :dueling:.

The below pheno isnt that good IMO and won't be kept... When growing plants from seed i like to test the limits and see how much nutes they can take, and this bitch burned up big time. Looks like a good yielder, but the thin, fraile branches are about to collapse from the weight and she still has a good little while before shes done. Very suttle pepper/metal smell when handled, similiar to a F2 I grew out. Not my cup of tea.

Well, thats what im up to, still keeping the lifesaver going... slow but steady. Harvest shots in a few weeks. Peace.

To any and all of us who are working with BOG's Lifesaver, I think it would be helpful for us to definitively identify the "main" phenotypes/cultigens within the lineage of Lifesaver. BOG has left us with a strain with many hidden gems... I would like to get a feel for what they are and I think it would help us all out immensely with any growing or breeding projects.

What do ya think?
