3000w vertical, some questions..

what would be the optimum way to hang 3 1000w bare bulbs in a 11x11x8 sealed room with co2 and 12k btu a/c, also how should i place the plants around the bulbs?

should end up around 3 and a half ft to 4 and a half ft trees, strains are chemdog ix-iii and c99 bx1

i do not want to do a colosseum or stacked grow it will just be a 1 level with plants placed around the bulbs

thanks for the help!

How to hang them? If that is what you are asking, I like my method, that is why I chose it! Check the pics a couple of threads down.

How to place them? How many plants will you be flowering at one time?

Keep the bottom of the bulb even with the tops of the plants in veg till wk2 or so, until stretch is over, then drop the bulb to where the socket is even with the tops of the plants. 8 5gal 100% coco buckets in a circle - radius (not diameter for the really medicated folks) from center to inner edge of bucket: 2.5ft - or 3 ft if you do the cloverleaf. I have 5 lights with a "4 leaf clover" with a circle in the center - 11x12x8 room, with plants covering 9x10 - 50 buckets. Yep, its very tight in there. If you have room, turn the 3 circles into a connected cloverleaf so some plants get light on all sides. Flower at 20-30 inches strain dependant. With vert growing you can manipulate stretch if you need to by lowering the bulb...most strains wont enter the dark zone "above" the bulb, they will either stop stretching or turn downward again. If you want them that short I recommend topping to induce bushes. If you get less than 100g per plant, hire a caregiver. 100-150g, good, just keep at it. 150+g per plant...now you are getting it, its what i do.

My lights are placed as seen below, with plants surrounding them, ignore the periods, they are to preserve the integrity of the diagram.

thats the kind of info i was looking for! thanks alot, i was thinking a clover type set up was the way to go so glad to know im on the right track. with 3 bulbs, 3 leaf clover set up should I put a circle of plants in the middle of the 3 lights or just make the outline for the clover?

what medium r u using?
gonna be 75% coco 25% perlite, most likely 5 gal pots unless someone has a better idea and changes my mind.

Well it will just be a 1 level vert not 2 the lights WILL NOT be stacked, this time around atleast.

Not sure how many plants yet but was thinking 6-8 around each 1000w to make the "3 leaf clover" look and maybe a small circle of 6 in the middle of the 3 lights

if anyone has any suggestions feel free to throw them out as I am building out the room now and need to be planned fairly soon :) THANKS!

no one beats T with Trees

Is that not right Tree-sa

You should follow her set up

I would recommend 100% Coco, no perlite at all. I found 100% to be better than any other combination and I have tried them all. Mixed with Coco I have tried numerous combos: Coco croutons (actually really good, just still like pure coco), sunshine #4, peat, spaghnum, perlite, hydroton, lava rock, etc. Clone to harvest in only coco now. Go with the 5 gal buckets.

As for shape, here is an example of something like mine, you can adapt to 3 lights if you are as capable as you seem. :smokeit:
In reality, I adjust the circles to be even, not mashed into the corners like the 2:30/4:30/7:30/10:30 (clock analogy) corners. 2d isnt the same as real life and I am not an artist.

Namaste and peace.

LST always IMO, same results as topping but doesn't slow growth. end up with abig round bush

with LST how do you judge the height of the bush after stretch or would the stretch still be the same no matter what technique you go with?

I have been fortunate enough to become one of those goofy coco zealots as a result of my incredible results with coco. Drains fine. Read some of the threads in the Coco forum about how (soil ease w/ 90% hydro speed, etc) and why(cation exchange, oxygen holding properties, etc) coco works so well. If you have drain holes in your pot (bottom) it is basically impossible to overwater. Drains well, wicks well, grows well.
