prolly a dumb question, but we responded to an ad about a car....really good deal on the car of course...

..ok then i email them about the car, asking for more info, and where to see it, etc...and this is the email i get back:

This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches,flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title.
From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services.We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $20,000.00
The final price that I want for this car is $2,870.00 including shipping and handling.

The car is in great condition, no accidents, clear title (no liens or loans).Is already at the shipping company in Miami, FL sealed and ready for the shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. this statement raises a few red flags for me. the whole text infact sounded well thought out and pre written response for anyone who inquires.

good luck, theres plenty of good deals out there, but with out major credentials, and reputaion given by ebay users (which can sometimes also be hacked) - its a bad idea to buy with out a test drive - if there is infact even a car.

SCAM..I just saw this thread and called someone who went through this yesterday.Called him to see how it panned out . He laughed. Different ad ,but same story... VIN # Craigslist/Ebay Same scam..he told me Ebay emailed them back today...Ebay says it is a SCAM

Also when you start searching for cars on craigslist it says in bold letters at the top of the page
ALL OFFERS TO SHIP CARS ARE %100 FRADULENT

would they put that if the goal was to sell cars?
