do blumat systems work with straight coco?

true enough, keep in mind; i'll try to only post first hand experience, but im the scientist type and I have a bad habbit of quoting physics and literature. heh.

Point it out, I appreciate it dude, to all of you. I'm always open to learning, i shall linger thi forum more often :).

UG! :joint:

Well if you´re a scientist type you´ll want to be quoting the correct physics regarding the operation of Blumats.
Get it here: http://www.blumat.info/english/
It´s, you know, their literature.

ptb do you think that because there is never a dry period on the soil surface that this would lead to more problems with insects/disease? I know your answer would only be hypothetical as you are just starting with the system but doesn't the plant want the substrate to almost dry out before watering rather that being consistently moist? just trying to get other peoples thoughts on this as I was always under the impression that it wasn't really a good thing to have consistent steady moisture.

With coco constant moisture is ok.

well these things were built for soil but i hate soil so i cant really answer it... what i can say is they have alot of play with them and there drip can be slow or fast.. so i think if you having problems you can always make it drip less or more as needed...

gnats are usually the only thing i get and im always fighting these things... lol

thanks again for the info ptb. I figured gnats might be a problem but it is good to know that the blumats are highly adjustable to get them dialed in. And gnats are easy enough to keep at bay from what I hear. I think I may switch at least part of my room to a coco blumat setup to experiment.
