HURRY! HURRY! DOLLAR GENERAL STORES STOCKING SPRING PLANTING SUPPLIES NOW!

L

LolaGal

I been checking out the Dollar General Store in my area, looking for new plastic pots, etc.

Dollar General is now stocking their shelves with Spring planting supplies.

Why do we care?

'Cause Dollar General has some good deals! Can't get MJ growing supplies cheaper anywheres in USA!

I got some 10 inch plastic saucers for 35 Cents each! WOW! They are usually like $2 each at Wal Mart and Lowe's.

If you aren't the first to get to the Dollar General and scoop up the grow supplies, they will be gone in a couple of weeks, at least the good stuff will be.

I got some 3 gallon plastic pots for only $5 each.

I always need more plastic pots, saucers to catch water, etc. and this is gonna be the best time to stock up for 2010...

Happy Bargain Hunting!

35 Cents! SHOCK!

When I went to my DG store, they said "We will have the stuff out in a couple of days."

But when I went today, they did not yet have it on the shelves.

So I snuck back into the rear of the store where they keep their stock.

LOL. I opened 2 boxes of saucers and pots, put them in my cart and went to the front of the store to pay.

Boy! Were they surprised.. hahahahahahaha

I hadda have some pots TODAY! :D

Last year, DG had some good (cheap) potting soil with peat AND humus. I can't remember the brand but look for the ingredients in that order. Very little pine products in the 4 or 5 bags I bought. I was just getting around to needing more. Thanks for the heads up, LG.

It's not FFOF but only costs 2, maybe 3 bucks per bag.

I got some Pine Dirt Trash at DG last year, still sitting in a pile in the yard.

Be careful people... DG has some nasty soil for sale too!

(Rip a bag open, take a lil peek in there) :biglaugh:

I must say, shopping in the rear stock department of Dollar General was the best shopping ever... lol....

I bought 90% of my potting supplies at the dollarama. They had these stackable coloured pots that had a 1" gap between the bottoms which was absolutely PERFECT for wick systems. They also had a dish bin that I bought to make into a wick based cloning box.

K+ on the dollar store for sick ass deals.

Apparently, my area is prime for pine products in cheap bagged potting soils. I always check the ingredients, the farther down it is on the label the less there is percentage-wise.

I'll see if I can find the stuff I got last year, I'll post the brand and a pic.

Thanks Big D. That ingredient label looks good. I'll check out FD and see if we've got same.

I read an article somewhere that says large distributors use local/regional ingredients to save traffic costs. Factories just bag it up according to formula and Brand name. I bought Hyponex at Wally and it sucked balz. The ingredient label included several pine products that were hard to buffer with lime.

Gotta give Family Dollar some love, but the one here has some ole snotty grandmas working in it, and they are like Bargain Natzi's !!!!

me: I want to buy that flower pot. It's the only other one you have.

Bargain Natzi: You can't have it. We have flowers stuck in there we are trying to sell.

me: I am headed to Dollar General....

Headed back to the Dollar General to see if they got the rest of those gardening supplies out of the big stack in the back room.

They said they would be putting the rest out this morning...

I already ran out of saucers... I need more!

Round 2 of Storage Room Snooping

Round 2 of Storage Room Snooping

Went all the way back to the Dollar General today late in the afternoon to see what they had gotten on the shelves.

durn it. still no stuff stocked.

the stock room door was open...... so I went in with my little cart...

I was poking around, looking for some more plastic saucers and

BUSTED! :biglaugh:

Yup, the lady was nice when she saw I had been putting some of it in my shopping cart, and asked her to find some more.

together we found a couple of more good bargains.

6 inch clear plastic saucers 15 cents each.
8 inch """"""""""""""""""""""" 25 cents each.

I also just realized that the dude checking me out only charged me 35 cents total for 40 saucers cause they were stacked . Good karma strikes again!

They also have a clear plastic 10 inch hanging basket saucer for 1.25 and it works dandy too. I cleaned em out for the second year in a row! heehee...

Still don't know what other goodies they got, lazy rascals.
