A new bill in Virginia would decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana and provide for a maximum civil fine of $500 for such possession. The possession bill would also decriminalize growing up to five plants for personal use with the same penalty. Note that this bill has nothing to do with medical issues.
A second bill would erase any penalties for doctors who prescribe marijuana for whatever reason (there are only two illnesses that qualify currently), and their patients too! So patients could take medical marijuana for whatever reasons their doctors think will benefit their patient.
