I want to do a scrog grow and I can find pictures of stuff people have done, but I need exact dimensions of the pieces. I am going to have a friend cut all the wood at work and bring it here for me to build that is why I am being so specific. I have basically a 3' by 3' by 3' box now with a mother compartment and a veg/flower compartment. I just think my 600 will be too much for the girls. So I was going to find something more suitable to use and more concealable, because right now it's all setup in a closet in my house and I would like to be more discreet. Thanks for all the help guys...
You need to consider that if the light isnt in a cooled hood then it must be 18 inches (minimum) from canopy and that doesnt take into account that you must usually start with the lamp around 3 foot from your babies... I think with aircooled hoods you can half that distance (but you need to double check)
Next to consider is how big your pots are... its no good thnking you have 3 foot of vertical grow space if your pots are going to be a foot tall, then you only have 2...
Next is the style of grow. I see you decided to go with scrog and so for this you will need to consider that the screen will be 7-9 inches above the pots and then add plant height to that (a foot to a foot and a half is not uncommon).
Now that you're scrogging, you must also figure out how you will get under the screen for maintenance and feeding...
i would go with the consensus 4ft x 4ft x 6/7ft high....
but you said small as possable.......and 3 x 3 x 6/7 if fine as well..and you could have it lower in height if you want, but its not advisable since everyone gets a stragler, or two, that will grow too tall and ruin everything!
The smallest box for a 600? 44"x18.5"x6' - Mills Pride C22. Correctly configured, the temps run 1-2F above ambient. It's not the optimum box, but it's about as small as you can go.
I actually went out and bought a wardrobe from IKEA. It's gonna be perfect with a couple of modifications on my part. I'm gonna take some pictures of it before I do anything to it tomorrow...
