personally i wouldnt try this indoors but out door you bet, IMO simply starting or growing a diversity of herbs with your yeska grow and doing precaution natural foliar sprays will help deter and prevent most if not all infestations.
prevention is key to any insect problem, know your enemy and take precautions is my best advice for any method against harmful insect.

Whenever I spot a jumping spider I kidnap em' and take em' to the garden. Hard to catch sometimes, but I do notice them hanging out in the room for a while. They seem happy.

I plan to try this stuff for myself. I have some friends with 15 years experience and they say it is not really possible do unless your room is full of predatory bugs. They told me that I would need so many lady bugs that they would be getting in your mouth when you walked in the room and anything less would not do the job that spraying does.

Has anyone ever seen mites get wiped out without spraying?

Like I said, I plan to try this as soon as I can buy some predatory insects. I'm growing basil right now in my veg room.

C21H30O2 get some white yarrow too, its a good companion and it also makes a great free fertilizer.

I have used predator mites numerous times. I watched them eat every leaf sucking mite they could find. They ran out of food and began eating each other. Unfortunately, the leaf suckers layed so many eggs they came back. There weren't enough predators left to wipe them back out before harvest. The more I read this thread, the more the idea of diversity in the garden sounds like something to experiment with. Cool

Compost teas with strong microbial activity are good to keep some pests away... Fresh human urine added to the mix tends to help.

Like a biological weapon so to speak.

But still too early to declare total success.

so im in with the jumping spiders - how am i s'posed to catch them? :D

spiders have been on earth for 300 million years - for comparison the dinosaurs came 65 million years ago - im sure they will outlast humans too.

I use a piece of paper. Just keep putting it in front of the spider when he tries to get away, eventually they reluctantly give in. When it's on the paper quickly whisk it away to the garden. The movement of the paper seems to keep them pinned, not to say that you won't get a jumper though. They seem rather intelligent.

C21H30O2,....I like the idea of what you have going keep us updated on the effectiveness.

jjfoo, in my 42 years growing cannabis I've never managed a total mite wipeout with any other method than breaking down and starting again from seed. Always hearing stories of victory on here (and on the old OG), but they're usually told by relative beginners, however sincere they may be. Each and every story that I've heard so far was...well, premature. Give a few weeks, and it turns out it wasn't really a total victory, a few mites remain.

I did achieve a balance with predator mites in NYC during the mid 70's. Of course predator mites don't 'wipe out' the borg, they just build population 'till the bad mites can't build theirs much. I think you have to run a fairly 'dirty' growroom for predators to be happy. I'm not sure they'd like the new sterile climate controlled rooms much. I probably shouldn't use the word dirty, because it means different things to different people. To me it means complex and unquantifiable more than it means contaminated, but that's coming from someone who still doesn't wash a freshly pulled carrot before munching!

Yeah,It seems you can't win with the borg. I currently THINK (keyword:THINK) I have none, but I know I'm wrong. Somewhere on a leaf just out of my sight they are regrouping and planning an invasion. I'm really hoping someone makes a breakthrough with this bio-diversity stuff.

That's what I figured, you never really win in the real world you just or on top for awhile and the length of time you spend on top is dependent on the things you do to create a balance and then maintain it.

I just got back from ordering some predators, they are composed of 3 different types of mite predators. I also finished some ACT and will spray the entire flower room including the plants .
