mooch there is about a 1" thick spot between 2 layers of glass that contains the water so it does not toutch the bulbs.

!!! the ones i got are liquid lumens and in the 350 range with out the stupid hoods on em, a tad over 500 with the hoods there awsome u can air cool these too if u feel the need but i have no idea why u would have to. there is a cheaper one called the fresca sol and its a worthless piece of cheaply painted junk but works in a pinch for a bakealite tube for that home made cool tube.
album.php

this is how i got the reflectors got em for under 200 each delivered brand new!
album.php

this is after a few mins of mods to get what i needed the ends are glued to the glass and they dont recomend prying the ends off the glass so i cut the metal away.
album.php

this is the mani no need for top hat gromits or any gromits for that matter 1/4" od tubing a 17/64th drill bit and a little spit and those lines have no issues coming out with a 2500 gph midland industrial solids handling pump forcing a lot of water and making a lot of pressure on em u can just see the green bars on the celing those are fence posts that had holes perfectly spaced to make some hooks on and use them as hangers for the tubes
album.php

this is the floor of the room it is angled to 1 corner and has a floor drain in the pond liner to return the water back to the 100 gal nute rez. the corragated pipe is what we used to hang from the celing and drilled holes in the sides and filled with grow rocks and clones. u can see the little condinsation on the glass thats fresh ice cold water and a warm room at work after 3 hours of the water circulating it hasnt had it again.
this room has been up and running for a little better than a month and is in flower at 25% capacity wish i could kick my own ass for not making more clones and filling !!!
i hope thats enough to keep yall readin i will get back to this with more pics and details as soon as i can

Are the plants gonna be as close to the bulb as you have the vertical drip lines hanging down?

Very exciting. I has a question tho. Are you worried about algea growth inside the tubes? What does the mfg reccomend you do to prevent algea? Thanks and good luck, I will be watching this one.

hey artic im running mp5k, bubblegum, and a old train wreck cross trying to find the best of the 3 for the new vert.
yes the bulbs are close to the plants im gonna try to post some pics of just how close.
covertcrops alge is a problem in this light set up but as long as i drop a pool tablet in there every 10 days or so it should keep it under controll i have ran the same water now for almost 2 months with no troubles

this is the hanging sys its a fence post some all thread rod made into hooks and some plummers tape and 1/4-20 nuts and bolts

i have been working on this for a couple years now and it has been back burnered a few times then i found the right deal on the liquid cooled lights and decided to go for it. one of the goals i had in mind is being able to build this from the home improvement ware house as much as possible and for it to be easily duplicated with or with out the use of water cooled lights.
as far as the water cooled lights go they are a royal pain in the ass to get set up and working properly it took some doing to get it right the biggest problem i had was getting all the air out of the sys. the soloution was to add some bleader valves on the cooling mani in the highest spots.
liquid lumens recomendations on a pump seemed totally redicliously small and i was right 1000gph does not make enough head to push up to the top of the room let alone through the lights. it took 5000 gph pump to push the 14 ft of head that was required to keep em cool.
had set it up with extra cooling ports to cool 2 more liquid coolable devices. a cooled co2 gen or a ice box and using the 4" coolable part of the lights. 1 of the other ones went to a home made chiller that was built from a old 5000 btu ac unit just to make sure that there are no heat issues. with the chiller running on the 100 gal tank it can actually cool the room down colder than ambient temps. ill try to grab some more pics and get some of the chiller in action

Great thread, am enjoying hearing about the challenges of dialling it in. Is it possible to see how you've put the plant sites into the vertical tubes?

The vert tubes look to be drain line from gutters or similar, yet your post says fence post? I is a little confused. lol
