Hmmm I'd say a mix of both cuz I'd like to run seeds and get that keeper and clone the shit out of it hahaha so I like both seeds and clone never had fem seeds and don't want em...

I would say both for different reasons.

Personally, I would prefer clones, because it simply reduces the time and energy I have to spend sorting through non-keepers. Clones shorten the timetable from months to "now".

HOWEVER, populations of clone-only plants are problematic because they reduce the variety available and result in monoculture. I'm thinking of my experience in LA, where every third clone was a result of a "OG Kush" cross. I saw very few hazes there, which are my favorite.

When starting a new strain.... I prefer starting with great seeds, if I have the space/time.

Clones are excellent but need to be from good sources. Until things change, it's often dubious as to what you're getting. Lotta good stuff out there but a lot of crap too.

For flowering? I ONLY use clones, thanks. All my genetics stay as mums until it's decided they're not staying around.

Stay Safe! :tree:

As others have already said, I like seeds to find new interesting genetics, learn what the plant likes and if it makes the cut (pun intended) then use clones to save time and energy when going to full production.
Also, if I want to play tent breeder, I would go seed first obviously.
So, both have their place - and whatever works for you and your style.

As in most of life, there is not black and white but shades along the spectrum.

I guess personally I just find it easier to keep a few moms around and take cuttings when I want them, as opposed to going out and finding/buying seeds every time I need them. I've dabbled in breeding a bit, and I like the "hybrid vigor" factor of new seeds, but in the end, it's just so much quicker to cut an already sexually mature clone from my mom, veg the thing for a couple of weeks, and put her in the flowering chamber. Imho. :p

Genetic Drift

Genetic Drift could be a problem when using clones, haven't read much about it so I won't try and explain it hahaha. Just thought I would bring it to all of your attention.

Seeds are fun, but prefer elites because I know im getting an extra frosty plant with dense nuggets. If I had to choose between eliminating clones or seeds from the world id eliminate the ability to clone because when it comes down to it making seeds and seeds in general are what keep this plant alive not the clones, if anything the ability to clone ruins the spread of the plant genetics, seeds are much easier to pass around and you can make a lot in a very small space.

Why so harsh..?..Its not about who's right, IC mag is a place to learn instead of inciting arguments use your knowledge to help others otherwise dont bother posting...

To answer the thread topic i like all 3...:)

Let's say your new to growing and have 2 black thumbs. If this grower were to START out with Female Seeds with a PBP and Cal Mag Liquid Karma and lets say some Northern Light's beans. Chances are within 3-4 months he or she is gonna have some pretty good smoke under his or her belt.

With the confidence and the knowledge acquired from this grow he or she then can move on to bigger and better things with the thought that "hey I've already done it once so where do I go from here?"

It's all about the FIRST GROW imo. Once you do it your hooked or pissed off so bad that ya wasted 3-4 months and good time and money only to end up with a tent full of seeds and not knowing why. I can take a ten pack of Female Seeds beans that cost what 20-25 bucks? and use 200 worth of nutes and some lights and get at least 6 pounds of bud for $220.00.

As time goes on this said grower can then dive into the wonderful world of cloning and then finding good cuts and so on and so on and so on. But if said grower has a bad FIRST experience I bet my money he down coping from the local dealer instead of honing his or her craft.

IMO ALL first time growers should start with some GOOD female seeds. Some company's have good one's some have shit but some also have EXCELLENT one's that won't cost you an arm or a leg to see if I'm right.:dance013:
