Tired of Trimming....Need suggestions on Trimmer & Drying Racks

Have you tried the flat blades? Do they improve it? I'm already pretty happy with the wire blades but if they'll make it work even better I'm all about it.
I'll be testing out the flat blade in about a week and a half...

Would like to see what you think about that Dongle. Used a spin pro this run and really like it. We "touch up" most buds, but it really saves time, we can't handle our harvests by hand.

The Spinpro that I bought also came with some "x" shaped wires that I haven't tried, either.

the x shaped ones def work twice as fast though i typically do around 25-35 spins.

speed does seem to be an issue as well it seems the right speed is that at which you don't need to hold the thing down with your other hand, which is pretty slow, but a few quick turns at the end generally helps

I know people that had that same experience with the Trimprp XL. The blades hack instead of cut and you get a lot of chlorophyll splattering on your buds. It gives it a grassy smell. It needs a vucuum to pull the trimmings away from the buds.

Do you think this would be a problem with the Trim Pro Workstation? I don't want to end up with carpel tunnel by the time I'm 30 but I really don't want to sacrifice quality either. I'm thinking Trim Pro over Trim Reaper because I don't have to break down colas before they're dry and the fact that it gives me more control on how roughly the buds are trimmed. That and having to oil up the Reaper and having it touch my buds, along with the residual smell upon first use isn't all the appealing. Would you object?

This thread has turned into exactly what I wanted to see/read.....Thanks everyone for your input

If you're still looking for drying rack suggestions, I like wooden towel racks from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They take 1x4' of floor space and hold quite a bit of product. I use large paper clips bent into hooks to hang the harvest on the racks. I've had the same racks for a while, but for whatever reason about a dozen paperclip hooks disappear every year. lol

I use a basic trimpro to big leaf my buds before running them through my Twisters. I don't think you can get a really finished look with it without completely rubbing the buds on the grate and losing a lot of resin. Even then it will not look very tight. I do a quick pass of my branches over the grate without letting the buds touch the grate. It does a good job as a big leafer but not much else. I would look into a spinpro powermatic. Doesn't have the shortcomings of the trimreaper but is still automatic.

Why is the spin pro so expensive? They could sell it for $200 and still make a killing!

Why is the rolling Thunder more than most people's car? Why do 1/4hp water chillers cost more than a refrigerator? Because you are most likely using it to trim a product that sells for $3500-$4500/lb on average. The hydroponics industry are very capitalistic.

Lol, you have it made man. I figured I'd still have to do a touch up on my buds, but I'm thinking the Trimpro will still knock a lot of time off one of the most annoying and tedious parts of growing. I'll look into that Spinpro though, and thanks for your input.

Does anyone currently use the Bonsai Hero trimmer? Any Complaints/problems/troubles...If so what has been your experience using it? http://www.youtube.com/v/XTd27bdMaI4

I don't have access to 110v/220v out in the bush and something gas powered would produce too much noise. In the video I can't tell if he is running it on 12v or not but having read the manual it says you can, seems super quiet too.

For drying I use small nails driven into chipboard/plywood and run strings/twine between each nail, then just leave a bit extra stem on each bud and hang over the string. It looks like a bunch of small clotheslines (if clothes lines were made of string) loaded up with buds, pretty simple and only costs maybe 10$ at most.

have ran several lbs through a spin pro with a blade on it and as long as u watch for stems sticking out u will never have a problem with it 18 turns of the handle to trim a oz or more yeah i cant argue. it was 3-4 days of hand trimming with 3-4 of us is now 2-4 hours with 2 trimming
fyi none of us wanted to hand trim and wandered around red eyed more than we trimmed when we had to use the fiskers.
beware of cheap immatations they suck the cash right out of your wallet buying wires
if u watch e bay u can get one in the $450 range and yes its totally worth having spent the money and to get a better trim on the final product in a 10th of the time

I don't know why humboldt doenst like it other than hes runnin mass herb through it. We still remove fan leaves by hand and break off stems then trim and dry on racks.

I love my spin pro. I only use it for smaller bottom buds and hand trim the top big buds. It saves me a ton of time trimming the lower buds that no one wants to trim anyways. I wouldn't go back to hand trimming small nugs unless I had to.

I have nothing but good things to say about the spinpro. I was talking about the trimpro for big leafing. I have plenty of friends using the spinpro and they love it. The spinpro automatic is even better.

we dont trim the fans off we just do a quick de-stem and roll on id immagine with wires you would need to remove the fans but the blade chews it right up into a neatly manicured bud. as far as quanity does 15 kw of pure hps flower power put me in to a quanity harvest?
the spin pro has handled a few of those harvests. sure im not getting to keep the 18" colas in 1 piece but they sure do trim fast in the trimmer.
when your a old man with arthritic hands that little gadget is a godsend. the handle is so easy to crank but with the addition of a hex nut holding the handle in and a cordless 24v black and decker drill with a nut driver on the end it runs as good as any power unit on the market today imo.

I just looked onthe site spinprodotcom that they are going to have a "upgrade" available soon for a drill. I guess you just need to take hte handle off and get a hex nut at the hardware store?

where are the blade versions coming from?
