Hash oil in Vaporizer, no go?

a friend gave me his digi-vaporizer the other night and I was dissapointed to find out even at 298c my hash oil would not vape. It just melted into the screen. I could taste it a little bit but no white vape. I thought it was broken until i loaded it up with bud. the bud vaped great even at lower temp. the oil bubbles and smokes great in pipes so i dont think its a purity issue.

can you use oil in vaporizer? what are your experiences?

I've used BHO in a Volcano before, pack it on top of the cannabis and it "melts in" and gets vap'd off. The hash comes out in the later bags and keeps going for a long time. Standard temp. You can turn it up a little early and you'll get less bags but the result is more a mix of hash and the canna you've packed.

If you smoke BHO in a bowl on a screen you'll notice it bleeds right through, so 2-3 screens work best.
Personally I like putting the BHO on top of herb for the melted in effect. But I far prefer vaping BHO through a HMK pipe.

I didn't even know Volcano made a BHO, er, "Oil pad"! I just ordered one for mine, I'll see how it compares to putting it on herb (though I'm sure I prefer the herb method, even if just to smoke more). It looks like a metal scrub pad or wool, from the pictures.
