Harassed by a cop, Would I be in jail if.....?

fuck pigs. i was given a ticket last saturday morning because i was walking on the right side of my friend and not behind him but still on the left side of the road and that cost me approximately $17 (50 PLN) living with pigs here in poland is pretty fucked up. but i managed to buy my seeds anyway so take care about yourself man

Private property is far different than a public place.If there are no gates,no signs forbidding trespassing, and you did not jump a fence or otherwise enter in a manner that would be seen as violating a posted area, then that pig had NO reason to stop you, IF he was in fact a cop.

You made a few mistakes, and I do NOT believe that it was a real cop: If that has been a real cop, he WOULD have taken you down for the warrant. Cops cannot call in a warrant and get a hit and ignore it and let you walk. That was either a weirdo on a power trip, a wannabe pig, OR some private security guard that was bluffing you.

If it WAS a real cop, he should have taken you for the warrant.

In any case, turning your pockets out and answering questions is a bad idea. NEVER volunteer anything, anything...to a cop. Never answer any questions other than giving ID.

Cops CANNOT ban anyone from private property. If the OWNER of the property POSTS it or tells someone in front of a witness that you are unwelcome and forbidden from returning, then YES, you can be charged with tresspass IF you return. You cannot be charged with tresspass initially unless the property was posted in such a way that it would be seen by anyone entering, AND the owner decided to prosecute.

It is NOT an offense just because some cop tells you to stay away; cops do NOT have the authority to order people off private property or not to enter it again unless the owner says so.

What is some stinking pig told you to stay away from an entire neighborhood? Would that mean that you could be arrested for driving down a street or entering that area? NO! No way. cops BLUFF...thats what they do...they give ' orders' with NO authority behind them and if the people believe it and fall for it, then they are fools.

Since you said it WAS a cop, then he screwed up in NOT taking you for the warrant...he must have been lazy to the max. But since you kowtowed so well he no doubt said' screw it' and went back to his donuts. you got lucky, but that won't happen again, I assure you.

I generally agree, but I had nothing to hide, and a traffic warrant doesnt scare me to bad because I'll get bail in like 2 hours. It is the second time I have been let off for a warrant. It's called being a white guy in the south.

oh also he is a real cop, that also lives in that complex. Cops here pick up security shifts for extra money, because they only make like 30 thousand a year hear. He is pissed becuase his shit was previously broken into, so he is over sensative. He is a dumb ass though because I know where he lives. like I said I already have informed his boss. He didnt arresst me because I was being cooporative. I know I had nothing on me so I volunteer my pocket contents, which I had just checked before I left on my walk. I was gonna bring a joint, but decided to smoke at the house, and use clear eyes. That was a good choice on my part

He is lucky I am not me 6 years ago going through my evil phase. I know where he lives, and now know what shift he works. I could totally ruin his personal life, and career over a 20 minute incident. The problem with turning someone onto a loser with nothing to lose is they get revenge. The beauty of this is he will have no idea what happened.

honestly, though... if you think about it you couldn't have found out about that traffic ticket any better - on foot. No car to impound. No other ticket to threaten you with. No ask to search. Nothin. All he did was warn you that his fellow officers are jumpy, so don't go reachin into your pockets for no good reason. Last thing he wants is you shot because he's scared to get shot. So he let you know. I really wouldn't waste too much on "getting even" over this petty shit. Go walk there if you want, but if you see the guy again, just tell him thanks for giving you the 411, you forgot to not walk there but you handled your tickets.

I already knew about the ticket. I am refusing to pay it because it was wrong, and the judge didnt agree because the cop was a liar. I was trying to wait out the 2 year statute of limitation on it. I am almost there.

Also an arrest warrant is not a search warrant, and if you inform the officer that the vehicle will be picked up within 24 hours then he cant tow it.

The bottom line is the Guy had no right to bother me at all, and if he was just some ass hole guy and not a cop he would have gotten his ass whooped. He gets to hide behind his bitch badge though.

It's funny this subject came up......

My friend was at a party on New Years Eve. The party was a couple houses down the street, probably about 15. On his walk home to his ladys house he got stopped by a bunch of cops who had a K9 dog. They made him get on the ground and he said the dog was literally barking in his face.

They took him to jail on a FELONY ATTEMPT TO BURGLARIZE charge.

When he arrived to court, the older folks who decided if they were going to press charges or not REALIZED THAT HE WAS THERE SONS FRIEND! They said he wasn't even the person who they saw outside of there house, yet they were never even spoken to before he was taken to jail!

He spent 2 nights in jail as and had a bail of $50k! ALL FOR NOTHING!!

How fucked up is that??

2 hours is pretty nice. They sit on you for 20+ hours, at least, where I use to live. Overcrowded and cold like a mofo.

I don't hate pigs. They are just stupid sheep. If there wasn't the war on drugs we probably wouldn't worry about them too much. Yes, they could quit their job etc etc. But they are just dumb humans who don't mind living off the misery others. Lots of those around.

Hopefully one day the status of a "police officer" will be restored to it's original intent. Protect and Serve. That's a long way off IMO, though. The War on Drugs has created a militia at war with the people.

I agree gramps. When white, or uncle tom black cops had to stop being so openly racist as a way to take their anger out, they turned the drug war as their excuse for their actions. So now instead of just minorities, it is anybody that is not dressed in a collared shirt with a clean cut, and a iphone.

The best cops hand down are Hispanic. They are friendly, and polite. For some reason they are just good cops, and i dont know why.

Hispanics are great people. Hard, hard workers. Every group has their bad apples, but I really like Hispanics. I'm more comfortable with them than I am with many of the white people around where I'm at. And I'm white as can be.

Maybe it has to do with an unjaded compassion? They are the new immigrant group. I agree they just seem more compassionate. They don't seem to treat you like an animal.
