Transplanting soil into coco

Ok so I was in a hurry to get soil because my seeds germed faster than I expected. I went to the farm and ranch store near me thinking they would have good selection, but because it's winter they didn't have shit. So it was either settle for Miracle grow potting soil or drive 20 miles to the hydro shop to get some foxfarms. So I grabbed a bag of Miracle grow with the intent of just starting them in it and then when I transplant putting them in some moonshine mix. Since then I stumbled on the coco forum and I think I want start using coco instead of soil. So my question is can I transplant my seedlings that are in miracle grow into coco when it's time to transplant or should I just wait until my next grow and start with coco?

i've done this-my method was to put the plant (just the medium not the whole plant lol) in a bowl of tepid water and gently fiddle about with the roots until most of the dirt was off-then simply re-pot on the coir. It worked fine-they didn't even wilt

I have done this before too, except I didn't go the same route as Eddie. I went much less refined and just removed as much soil as I could.

That was a BAD IDEA! IT CAN BE DONE, BUT DON'T DISTURB THE ROOT BALL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Sorry for the caps. Too lazy to fix.

Mine went fine, but I got lucky. Keeping as little soil in there as possible will help and it can work out.

u can do this no problem, esp if your starter soil container is small as the less of two mediums the better, and actually id recomend u do disturb the root ball by pulling of any excess soil u can, remember u trim roots and its like trimming tops, dont go out of your way to abuse your plants but weed takes alot more abuse then people realize, transplant em and watch em explode!
