Help identifying males (please)

Grow Clean.... Go Fast!
So this is our first seedling (ever) that I think may start to be getting old enough to presex. I have been doing alot of reading, and can't seem to really tell if any of them are males or females, or if it is too early to tell...

So what does this look like to you (if anything)?

Thanks!

looks a bit too soon to tell. you would have to post a close up of the node where the leaf meets the stem.

Trust Your Eyes

Eventually your plant's sex will become evident, even to your inexperienced eye. The reason you can't tell is that it hasn't shown yet. Keep watching. Just make sure you can tell the difference between males and females in pictures you see in books and online. When the naughty bits appear you will recognize them. Trust your eyes.

yeah too early. Some strains wait a while to show sex, others dont.

Dont worry about it, its not a HUGE thing. You will notice a male with a generous amount of time before it can do any "damage". So just grow them out and it will come.

don't trust your heart.

heart can see further then the eyes could ever see..

as of sexing, you'll learn over time when the "balls" are very small if its female or male. best thing is experience. and yeah that pic is no zoomed in on the node, so..

Here is a closer picture, sorry I don't think my camera does macro shots very well, or at least this user of my camera doesn't! Anyway, I guess it just might be too early, but I was looking at the little things by the node. I freaked myself out reading Jorge Cervantes book last night about sexing and early preflowers sometimes developing and dropping a little pollen in a matter of a couple of days.... So this leads to my current obsession. Thanks for indulging me!

yep, he's male

don't worry, it doesn't happen that fast, but you do want to be on the look out so you can stop spending time on males if your not breeding. ot me mroe of a time factor then anything getting males out of the garden..

Shoot. That is what I was guessing. At least that means the others might have a chance of not being male still, as I can't really find anything yet. But this one was the tallest, so he might have showed first. I was thinking of keeping the males and trying some things out, like trimming techniques, etc due to my lack of experience. I was even thinking of seperating the males and taking them to flower.

I read that book too when I started out and I was still confused for a bit. In my experience, if I truly can't tell, I need to wait because it's pretty clear most of the time.

most males are taller.. good eye

whats to trim on a male, don't doubt, you'll be fine trimming

remember you might end up with some seed, unless you got your basis covered on keeping male pollen and that sort..

the closer pic does look more like a male (bit out of focus though) - i would leave it a couple more days - not 100% conclusive yet imo

I'd cut his balls off!!...and stick them in a plastic bag in the freezer for later use. I can't see anything yet...wait a bit longer. Keep your eyes on it,from my experience males are sneaky if you don't. They seem to have a way of developing flowers that are out of sight, like they mature on the lower parts of the plant first. Then when you least expect it,BOOM!!!,they open and get pollen everywhere. I keep my males away from ANY females, and then once I get that precious genetic material,I snuff em'.

Sounds good! I am watching the little pervert closely, I think he has been eyeballing the new seedlings with some ill-intent....
