spot problems - with pics

so I have 2 plants that have just started popping up hairs (autoflowering), its about 3/4 weeks into the grow and these problems occur.

I'm growing in 100% Canna Coco in 3gallon pots, watering each with roughly a litre and my biggest mistake is that im not getting any run-off, how much would you suggest I water with? when it comes to water, I get it from the tap, have it in a 3l bottle, usually let it sit for 24 hours then add my nutes, canna A+B at 2.5ml each per litre, and 1.5ml each of canna mono nutes Cal/Mag into the 3 litres.

I pH my water to 6.0, due to the no run off, I'm not testing it once it passes through the coco, I'll have to wait until the coco dries out a bit.

400W HPS with 2 fans in a cupboard roughly 17 inches from the tops with minimal heat stress aswell.

the pics are in my album; http://www.icmag.com/ic/album.php?albumid=13724

thanks in advance.

edit; all pics are from the same plant, all the same leaves, the 3 fingered ones are on the 3rd leaf set the 5 fingered one the 4th.

there should be enough calmag in your tap water first off.

second...you dont want to let coco dryout...do you have perlite or somthing mixed in witht he coco for drainage and aeration?

young plants need about 200-400 ml a day...older plants 600-800

you dont NEED to see runoff if your watering with that much everyday.

I would cut out the calmag.

I was thinking of cutting the Cal Mag, before the last watering I had a good idea that I should probably cut back if not stop using it all together.

Interesting that feeding routine, understandable if im quite hesitant, a day? without any drying of the medium? could this not lead to build up?

I dont have any perlite mixed into the medium, I've been through 3 grows 100% coco, sure ive had problems in others but they seemed to always fix themselves, this time I want to catch out what the problem is.

thanks for the reply, more opinions please? would it be worth a flush? never done it before but first time for everything, keeping in mind they've just started showing hairs over the last few days.

you don't need perlite. I use it, but there's no real need.
Coco should be watered every day. Most autoflowers would have a hard time filling 3 gallon pot. I use 3 gallon pots with 2-3' tall monster bushes under a 1k. Probably only need a 2 gallon pot.
You may only need a 1 gallon pot.
Anyway, in coco drying out will cause nute concentrations.

I don't really know those nutes, but seems like alot. 2.5 ml to a liter would be something like 2 teaspoons to a gallon. Plus the other stuff. i don't know, maybe not.

I don't water to runoff very often myself, but you should be getting a good saturation.
Spotting like that is maybe a P def. if you pH is good and you give them enough nutes you should be good.
maybe flush, just finish with nutes so they don't get defs.

thanks man your reply is much appreciated, this watering coco every day is interesting, ive never read of it, or I have and ive been too high to remember, lol, water everyday without any drying out?.

looking for more input guys.

come on guys even if you dont know what the problem is and just have the slightest idea/opinion then it would be much appreciated.

were telling you to stick with your plan but to start watering daily....when the coco drys up it binds up nutes and causes a build up...so you want to keep it moist.

I think they will do better if you cut the calmag for now and water them with normal nutes 400ml per plant.

I took on board your advice and watered with 500ml earlier as they were drying up, I'd still like some other peoples input aswell though, it never hurts to seek as much advice/help possible.

that's a pretty big pot for the size of the plant.
With that big of a pot and an unhealthy plant, you may not be able to water daily. But still every couple days.

You have an N and P def. If you have a nute buildup lowering medium pH it could lockout P. And what looks like a N def could just be the P def, cause they act a bit the same sometimes.
If so, a flush could cure it. Be sure to finish the flush with good nutes so they're not in barren coco when you're done.

I recommend using the lucas formula modified for coco. GH flora nutes- 6ml micro/9ml bloom with a couple ml of Mag.

Many here use canna a + b though, but I couldn't tell you the optimum amount. Usually less than the manf says though.
