I don't particularly care for vaping but yes it works well. And can be used right in the middle of a public place.
I'd like to answer that question. You betcha! I am not going to try to sell vaping to anyone. It's a personal choice. I was curious about it and borrowed a total piece of crap box vape with a whip. I got very stoned using it and was sold on the idea. I wanted portability and did not want to be confined to where ever I had my 'Volcano/Extreme' plugged in and set up.. very cumbersome. After reading a thread by KC on the Iolite, I was sold. I pushed the button and had one on the way. It rocks. Totally portable, very discreet (used it in broad daylight in downtown Ann Arbor MI the day before new years eve). The one most important piece of advice to anyone contemplating purchasing an Iolite.. when you order it, go find COLIBRI butane and have it ready. Your Iolite will be a total disappointment with ronson or other brands of cheap butane. Regarding the flavor... I have (not bragging) 5 strains of weed at my disposal right now and all 5 have distinct different flavors. My favorite is Nirvanna's Swiss Cheese. Buzz wize, I find it totally satisfying and no problem with it being short lived. Actually, I think I get much higher with the vape than I do smoking. Smoking for me, now is like having a campfire in my mouth.. sorry, it's the only way I can describe it. Whew.. I'm exhausted.. I think I'll load my little vape and go watch it snow...

...All plastic...yum. I've tried it a few times but can't really justify the fact that it is plastic ("higher than food grade," quotes the creator). He also won't explain the technology specifically, because it is still patent pending. I don't blame him, simply observing that the consumer is not allowed the same knowledge of the product as the producer. I don't understand the infatuation with plastic vaporizers. Some people who grow their own go through an awfully long time until their flowers are ready, and some take pride in the fact that it has never touch the inside of a plastic bag. Just a thought.

wouldnt it be ironic, smoking organic buds out of a plastic vape that exposes you to BNP (not saying it does) but who knows. The iolite gets pretty warm.

Exactly. I'm not saying it does either, I'm just saying it is uncertain. There is a fairly large thread on it at FC in which the creator stepped in and answered a few questions, which was pretty cool.

Like I said I've used one that a friend owns, and it did indeed do the trick. He pulled it out of his bag when we were getting off the ferry and here I am thinking he's about to make a call or check his email and we're getting baked on the way to his car. Cool concept, indeed. Is it safe? I just don't see enough evidence one way or the other, so I will stay wary, and advise others to simply be open to the fact that health repercussions could potentially be an imminent threat, and could not show up for decades to come.

i had an aromed. it was great with full melt bubblehash. my gf gave it on loan to some jerk and it aint coming back i fear. i still have the bong tho.

Have you tried your Iolite with high quality butane? i.e. Colibri
It makes a huge difference. If you are expecting it to work as good as the cano, I can see your disappointment.
pm me if you want to get rid of it. I have a friend who can't really afford one, but might be interested if he could get a bargain.

I've always had the impression that vaping gives an 'incomplete', 'lighter' high i.e. the body stone component isn't as heavy.
Quite recently I've tried with samples of Fairlight's Daze, vaping with Volcano at 7-8, smoking a joint and hitting the bong.
The joint/bong clearly gave more of a hybrid high with head and body component while the Volcano was more of a head high with only a little body component, like warm tingly feet.
Having that said, I kinda like the Volcano better 'cause it's easier on the lungs and the vapours carry the buds flavour better. Just need to figure out how to get a 'complete' high out of it. Gotta try vaping BHO someday.

Hmm i dont think i ever chimined in here the other day.
But yes, imo vaping is HIGHLY over rated. Then again I think I really just like everything to do with smoking. Minus cleaning the glass. I even really enjoy that burnt marijuana smell in the air... on my clothes, hell even on my fingers. I don't smoke tobacco or anything else. Hehe I remember 10 years ago sitting in school, having just smoked a giant fatty on the way to school, smelling my fingers and they smell like soap covered with joint. We would try to wash our hands before class, but they still stank.
edit: Damn stoned rambling.... anyways my original point. I have a nice vaporbrothers box vape. I've used a cano' multiple times. I still prefer to smoke.

^^ Those were the days, more like 16years ago for me. I have yet still to purchase a vape. Apparently no one I know has one for me to give it a try. We all know it is healthier, thing is does it get you just as high as a joint or bong hit or higher? I will have to find out some time this year when I find the spare cash to purchase one of those bad boys, since I won't buy a cheap one.
Like most things, I like to be my own judge since everything affects us all so differently.peace,

After vaping exclusively for 8 years, i think vaping is mainlining THC. Vaping provides exactly what i want THC to do to my mind.
my vape experience is limited -- i've only ever used my own vape. All glass. i don't eat plastic so i'm not sure what "food grade plastic" means, and i certainly don't want to vape with or through plastic. Or metal. Just glass and bud.
And no secrets ... if anybody cares there are pictures inside and out of the Bud Toaster vape in my gallery.

Box vaporizers are inferior IMO. I'm also not a fan of the volcano or bag vapes. Silver Surfer/Da Buddha are the best I have tried. If you're having severe muscle/nerve spasms or an extreme bout of insomnia with no pure Indica meds then smoke a joint, it will alleviate it faster. More CBD when you combust...But then again just turn up the temperature on your surfer/buddha to combust for more CBD

Listen to the Kat Williams skit about him smoking a vape: It all starts off with Kat smoking with his "white friends", and then the "white friends" wanted to see how high they could possibly get so as Kat says "they bust about a space age contraption" and get him higher than he has ever been (funny shit)... A level of high that can only be achieved by a vape... NOTHING beats a good vape... I have a Silver Surfer that works great even though I don't use it, because I have a Volcano that I prefer... BTW the Kat Williams' show "It's Pimpin' Pumpin'" is some hella funny shiz
