These proposed bills never seem to stop. Take my word for it...I'm in Colorado and again today, another enemy of amendment 20 has proposed yet another sanction. You get used to it after a while. It gets laughed at...then dropped.

oh boy.... here we go ,
smells like alot of red tape , inspections , regulations ,ect and especially price increases
sort of like liquor...its legal....but have you ever tried to make your own moonshine , brandy, ect ......
hell no , thats usually more jail time than growing weed in most states ,
they eventually want to track every gram of weed that is in the
system....so that they can tax it

BTW anyone know whats the law in MI if you dont have your mmj paperwork and you are busted ...possession or growing??

Here's What I'm Thinking

Here's What I'm Thinking

After visiting Senators and Representatives in WI., I've come to this conclusion -

Some of these politicians are under the false impression that their personal position weighs more than the position of the MAJORITY of their constituents.

To be fair, I have also met just as many open minded "fence sitters" who are doing their due diligence and representing the will of their constituents.

I want to address the first group, and I think the key to addressing this group is the word MAJORITY!

We have the MAJORITY! Everywhere. Documented.

So my approach was to play the majority card when visting with the politicians that think they know more than their constituents.

I talked about voters and taxpayers, not people. I addressed the numbers and what the majority thinks right now.

I mentioned that there are some who may consider the definition of political suicide to be: coming out in favor of "the evil mj".
However, today's reality may very well be that the new definiton of political suicide will be: "going against the wishes of the majoirty of the voters, the taxpayers, your constituents."

I liked it!

However, the results seemed to suggest that the impact I had anticpated was lacking (understatement).

Some of these people are really standing on their own personal moral high ground and can't be swayed.

But that does not change the numbers.

They are in the minority, we have the majority.

The solution seems to be simple math to me -

If this group of politcians does not understand or believe in the will of the people, the majority, . . .

then the majority needs to remove and replace these ego tripping sanctimonious politicians ASAP!

Let's git er done!

buddy

Another issue I feel we must address is stopping all these little divisions that are popping up in our ranks. Another topic for later.

This will never be approved.
The legislation presented seeks to change Federal Law.
If you want to be shocked regarding who is behind this push, follow the money trail.
It will lead you directly to Greg Francisco, Executive Director of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Association. He and his other investors are the ones seeking to become the sole providers of Marijuana in Michigan.
You thought they were a Patient Advocate group? Jokes on you !

FOLLOW the MONEY ! ! !

Looks like big Pharma is digging in for a fight.... It may be long one, as they are entrenched into the 'Merkin Business Economy. Just look at the ads for prescription drugs, with the 3 minute long disclaimers at the end of the ad. In no other category of business would this be acceptable.

Big Pharma makes its'; own rules.... Get ready for a battle. If not this issue, (no growing) then another will take its; place.

IMHO, we will win the MMJ battle nationwide, IF we do NOT get a (more) conservative administration in Office for 2012.

But, the real question is one of Enforcement, or not...

If we do get some Newt Gingrich or a different Redneck as Prez, there will be a full-on Police State, with no privacy. Mass emmigrations will occur out of this country. I would be first in line. If I can wait even that long. lol.

In fact, no privacy is already a foregone conclusion. I feel pretty grumpy about this...

Don't panic yet

Don't panic yet

This proposal doesn't have a chance as it stands. It will require a 75% majority vote in the legislature to overturn the referendum. Count on some version of this happening in the future though. The guy who proposed this has a ton of commercial greenhouses in his district that are hurting. I think this is a play for his buddies. Look for a more gradual shift I think. You'll see more coops and dispensaries here soon. Patients like dispensaries. There's already one grey-area dispensary here. I'm seeing more and more coops starting too. Best bet as a caregiver is to hook up with some good folks early and keep organizing and building. It will put you in a good position to stay involved as things progress. I can tell you there are opportunities here now for excellent caregivers who want to build something. peace.

Michigan MMJ Law change could stop patients from growing their own meds

How much money can a good 'caregiver/grower' make in Michigan ?
Do you support the individual patient in growing for themselves ?
Would you like to see the law changed, making patient have to use a 'caregiver/grower' ?

1 Don't know

2 Support

3 Will fight tooth and nail to prevent that law change

They are trying to amend the WI bill and remove all personal and CG growing language and protections.

So I will fight that fight too during my last few months in WI before I become a Lions fan.

Gut tells me Lions gonna clean up in the draft so my timings perfect.

1) About $60K is reasonable with 5pts each getting 1oz/week if you're on your own. It's also a good time to get involved on the ground floor of some other related businesses here. Commission based marketing where you bring pts to caregivers and docs. The more involved you get politically and economically, the more you really have to mind your p's and q's because you will be scrutinized. :)
2) I absolutely support patient's rights here. Truthfully I think it should be legalized, though I'm happy with the steady progress we've made recently.

too many local governments see it as a potential economic boost to the nation's worst economy for this bill to be passed. remember the people voting on it in lansing are the elected representatives of a city or small town. Many of those are looking to gain residents and tax revenue by having a relaxed attitude towards medical marijuana businesses.

I am opening an LLC and paying taxes, there is their revenue. They need to chill for a min and let things get rolling. Soon as dispensaries open up and caregivers can vend their overages to them, they will make a shit ton of money. Pro-marijuana communities will blow up, house prices will skyrocket, we will find our Arcata. All kinds of people will be better off if they let experienced caregivers supply any patients in need, like a home delivery that they have in CA/CO. Don't worry, within the year we will see some good distribution legislation and shits going to pop off. We will always have the opposing force trying to step on our dicks, until their pocket gets lined from it. Go ahead and tax my caregiving business!

Now I know why I got my first neg reps and cussed out today. It was from people in Michigan pissed off.

Good Luck with it, I am sure it will all work out.

Get out of our thread...your pm was disturbing.

Great points PK....there are so many people pushing for this. Far more than those who oppose it.
