First time PBP run, something went wrong

I was a long time GH user. It worked great for me, lots of success. BUt I wanted to try something new, more organic, so i went to PBP.

My problem- all looked good/healthy during veg and flower, but at harvest the nugs did not have girth (fattiness). the nugs looked skinny like runners. there were distinct runners on one strain, juicyfruit. the smoke has been great for all strains, it's just a lot of buds are airy and unsubstantial.

what i think might be the problems
- lack of CO2
- too much cal mag
- too much K
(sorry don't have a camera for pics)

i have a 6kw room, 2 8" vortex, 10" max can fan (w filter) all sucking for exhaust. and one 6" ecoplus for intake w/ a filter. the room (garage) is obviously not completely sealed, im sure there's leaks for air. I have an RO machine. and plants train to waste in a 65/35 ProMixHP-chunky perlite soil mix.

my nutes; pbp grow, pbp soil bloom, lkarma, lkbloom, cal mag, sweet
nutes during flower
Tran: pbp grow 7 ml/gal
pbp soil bloom 8 ml/gal
cal mag 10 ml/gal
lkarma- 15ml/gal
sweet 10ml/gal

Bloom: pbp bloom 20 ml/gal
lkbloom 2.5 ml/gal
calmag 10ml/gal
sweet 10 ml/gal
lkarma 15 ml/gal

** about 3 weeks in on bloom schedule. leaves started twisted heavily, so i cut back on lkarma and bloom

Agressive Bloom: pbp bloom 15 ml/gal
lkbloom 2.5-3.5 ml/gal
cal mag 10ml/gal
sweet 10ml/gal
Ripen and a 10 day flush

I did fluctuate w/ my nutes a bit between weeks 3 and 6, but this is the general plan. the cal mag nutes always stayed 10 ml/gal, which i think was my biggest problem.:dunno:

i want to keep going with Pbp, but i can't have another low yielding run my first. im teetering going back to GH, but i'd really like to stick with PBP. i just need some sound advice and my searching has brought me few solid reasons. thanks. puff puff

The backs of the bottles say PBP both grow and bloom-45ml. 12ml of LK, 5ml of Cal-mag. I would add blackstrap molasses.

. i been using pbp quite a few years now.45 mil is for aggressive flowering regular is one oz. for every watering 1 oz works for me. i chcked my 5 gal bottle to make sure tho. i also use earth juice meta k and bloom for a boost a few times. other than cal mag if no lime in soil or using ro ect type water nothing else needed IMHO

I am considering using pbp in promix my next grow. Can it be used with tap water and how does it ph, the gh micro and bloom i use now comes out 6.0 at a mix of 5 mil micro, 10 mil bloom.

hank- by going as high as 45ml do your ppm's exceed 2000?

do either of you see a period around three weeks where there's a lot of leaf curl/twisting (going as high as 25 and 45ml)?... mine twisted, was this b/c of my high cal mag....

and onion, promix likes ph btween 5.8-6.0.

5.8-6.0 is too low imo.
i had great results keeping my promix between 6.5-6.8

does your experience with promix being btween 6.5-6.8 coincide with pbp line? ....or any line? for a long time i did 6.0 ph for GH with promix and all was dandy... just want to dial it in

I went out and wrote down the most that PBP recommended per gallon. Not my numbers. I never checkppm.

Hate to go against the grain here, but I've been running pbp with promix for almost 3 years and always kept my ph at 6, never had one pH issue... same for every single grower I know who runs the stuff... if he's in promix the issue is prob not pH...

I'm curious if most people realize how much Mg (1.5%) is in the product Sweet?

I say this noting that you used it in addition to CalMag.

CalMag+, Magical, etc. usually contain 1.25% Mg...

That feeding is all over the place

15ml/g bloom
10ml/g karma
4-5ml/g calmag

Thats all you should be feeding them.

Once you dial that in, you can play around with some additives if you want.

I agree. I was all over the place. I'm going to work from the line up you just stated. maybe increase the bloom to 20ml and ad some grandma's molasses at 2 tsp/gal every week...and my pk booster doesn't scare me so i'm stickin with it. but i know keeping things simple is usually better.

Does anyone find that with pbp soil formula runs out of N at the end?

I use BigNuggets recipe almost exactly when using PBP...maybe bump some plants up to 20ml if needed...Ph always 6.0.
Have you run these exact cuttings before?
