lighting for my cab?

hi all just after your opinions on this, i am starting my new grow soon which is going to be 66 h x 64 w x 33 d cms, and i will be using a 70w hps along with two 25w cfls. i havent got a clue when it comes to working out lighting and was just wondering if this would be sufficient in this space? im not after amazing results lol just need enough any advice is appreciated, and yes i know i need to read up more on working out lighting lol! thanks

i had to convert the cm to inches so i could help with this, but the thing is, you dont really need help when it comes to how much... if you are using a 70watt hps and 50 in cfl's... i would say you have plenty of light considering...
the size of the cab small at roughtly 23.5 inches tall. with consideration of putting in the plant containers....losing atleast 4 inches off the bottom and having the bulbs mounted near the top, your looking at loosing about another 4inches roughly... giving you only about 15-16inches of gow space.
Now with about 15" of gow space in height, the amount of light you have should definitly be enough to get some pretty decent buds.
Recomend LST (low stress training), or Scrog... sog might be prett hard in but still workable i guess but still will be challenge.

thanks for your help! yea am going to go for scrog, just wasnt sure whether i should get more light in there, dont want to be growing crap wispy buds! lol

Honestly? I think that might be a little too much light, when it comes to the heat that those lights will produce.

Lumens are fine, but ambient temps? Not so sure of that. It's probably manageable though.

maybe you should consider using pl-l tubes... they would give you more height to work with.

again as for the light, you have enought to get some decent buds going there. i mean some decent buds... and deffinitly not wispy. But yes that hps is going to produce heat. just make sure you exhaust from the top of that cab, and have a fan blow firectly onto the hps to keep it cool. scrog is going to be nice to work with... do you have a digital camera or anything so you can show us what doing on with this cab at the moment? if you get worried about the bulb burning the plant you can even buy one of those bulb guards you put around to keep stuff from touching it... you can find them at most hardware stores...

Im trying sog right now with about the same size as you this is what I got from just one last time.this is with just the 70 watt hps no cfls

70watt hps would be pretty easy to cool. just make a simple cooltube. i have a 175watt MH in my pc case. the dimensions are smaller then what you mentioned. My ambient temps are the same as the room the case is in. So about 75 to 80. the temps are about 90 about 3in from the bulb. which would be the radiant heat. So a 70 watt hps is very do able. Just make sure you have proper airflow.

the temps arent really an issue at the moment, so far i only have the intake installed, but for the exhaust i have bought a 125mm inline fan

i have cut a hole in the top shelf of the cab which will house the fan, and then will attach a diy carbon filter and acoustic ducting which will vent through the top right of the cab.

the only problems at the moment is that the exhaust fan is wayy too loud!

if things get out of hand il get one of those holders for the bulb but am keeping everything small so shouldnt have to hopefully! and am going to have to make some sort of homemade reflector lol

i got 29 grams off that one dry. it was the first time i used dirt. I hope to do better next time. also using small pots this time.
