So I got a bag of Bio Bizz Coco-Mix a few weeks ago and to my surprise I found little yellow balls in it which looked like dry nutes mixed in like you see in Miracle Grow soils and other shit with pre mixed nutrients. Being coco I thought if it was anything it might be a Cal-Mag supplement since coco is low on it. For a while I was bothered by this and didn't find anyone else with this problem. So I showed the guy at the hydro shop what I was talking about in a bag at the store and even he was like WTF! After some emails and calls we have figured it out!! I was right from jump!!! I go and buy a bag of Ready Gro Moisture Formula today and he tells he found out what those things in the Bio Bizz Coco Mix was... Drum roll please badadadadadadaddbadadadada CAL MAG supplements!!! I think this was a VERY smart thing to do on their part what do you lovely ICMAG members think about this?

I had a feeling that's what it was just cuz Head came up with coco formula for Cutting Edge Solutions MICRO and BLOOM to match his mix from GH that everybody get's such good results from. So in this mix CES MICRO and BLOOM at 6ml M 10ml B per gal is PERFECT with the Bio Bizz Coco Mix. He had originally told me to do 6/10 plus a lil Cal Mag which he would figure out for me later but I never used it cuz I don't have any hahaha and looks like I didn't need it with Bio Bizz!!!!

Thought you folks in the Coco section might find this interesting :smokeit:

Yes that is why I posted it Dongle cuz I had the guy at Jst HydroGarden call them up and find out and that's what he told me today that they (Bio Bizz) told him they were Cal Mag supplements because as we all know coco is low on Cal and Mag...

I sent them an email to verify because I rarely believe hydro store guys.
That sounds like a very odd way to add cal mag.

I knew that hydro guy was full of it.
Here is the info from BioBizz:

The balls are eggs of the common rainworm.
They are actually very useful, we use them also to make our wormhumus.
You can test by squeezing one of the balls.
A white milky substance will come out.
This is one of the effects of using a 100% organic coco substrate, there is useful life inside :)
Happy growing and thnx for using our Coco:)

I figured they were tricoderma or something, now your saying they are earthworm eggs.

For the record, i noticed them 3 months ago, and i havent had any problems.

and havent seen any living worms

according to wikipedia,
"the ends of the cocoon seal to form a vaguely lemon-shaped incubator (cocoon) in which the embryonic worms develop"
earthworm eggs look like this
Earthworm_-_L._terrestris_cocoons.jpg

If my memory serves me, the balls in biobizz are perfectly round.
there are 1800+ species of rainworm/earthworm, maybe eggs come in different shapes... but those balls are pretty uniform and round.

Yea I agree with ShroomDr they are not earthworm eggs they are some type of time released nutrient and they are perfect little yellow balls with white liquid in some and powder in others but they all look the same... I'll talk to the guy tomorrow more and who he got the info from at Bio Bizz ect...

There is no more mystery here.
BioBizz already said that they are rainworm eggs.
Not all worm eggs look like the picture posted above.
I think BioBizz knows best what is in their products.
Forget the hydro store guy, contact them yourself.

But then again, maybe they are time release magic pixie jizz!

adding cal & mag can be difficult based on their precipitation, interaction w/ potassium & different ph's they require for optimum assimilation...

but, they said coco couldnt be amended:whistling:...

goal:pre-fertilized coco+water only
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=126834:tumbleweed:

maybe they read thread.
or, those that posted couldnt be done, didnt.

gyspum is slightly soluble cal+s... & lowers ph...
cheapo oyster shells from pet store work, too. among other techs...

feeding cal & mag separately, individually, altogether ... @ their optimum ph's... before feeding reg fert regime.

enjoy your garden!

BioBizz doesn't add any cal or mag but Atami does with their B'Cuzz bagged coco.
They don't use time release.
They saturate it, flush, and then fertilize again.

BUMP

I just planted rooted clones into straight, unwashed biobizz coco-mix. 100% success! the little balls (whatever they are) are not detrimental, and the coco is good to go outta the bag.

Bump,

planted rapid rooters with sprouted seedlings into straight, unwashed bio bizz coco mix. 7/8, I probably disturbed the dead one's tap root too much during transplant.

Bump (a two week update i guess),

While it works straight outta the bag, im amending my comments, and saying you should probably wash it anyway.

The seedlings kinda just sat there, and after couple soakings with a mild solution (1/4 strength, 25N 25P 50K), they finally started to take off.

Im gonna start with a nice soak (and flush) of 1/4 strength solution from now on.
