yes if you only pollenate a few lowers the rest of the plant should stay seed free. heres a helpful hint

when i pollenate a plant i remove plant at lights on pollenate desired ereas then place her in a dark closet no fan on !!. after 24 hrs or 2 hrs before lights on next day i remove plant and spray on mist plain PH'd water onto the plant. this removes any excess pollen and only the desired ereas should produce seed.

place in dark because light destroys pollen fast water kills i right away. after 24 hrs in dark pollenation has taken effect n/p.

if you choose to pollenate plant in flower and leave her you can pollenate desired tops of lwoer branchs. then place a brown paper bag over pollenated branch. this will help to insure pollenation takes and hopefully no stray pollen

i prefer removing plants to pollenate.

Just put a large trash bag over the plant, leaving the branch you want to pollinate sticking out. Have another (paper) bag ready, and string/ties to put over the branch once you've applied the pollen, and make sure the bag is securely tied before removing the trash bag from the plant.

Leave a few hours to be safe, and then pull off the paper bag, give it a light spray with water if there's pollen on the leaves, and all should be fine. You might get one or two seeds on other branches, but not many. And if you get one or two on other plants you never planned to pollinate, so much the better - I've been saved many times by that kind of 'accident'!

It's very important not to put a plastic bag over the pollinated branch, or the buildup of humidity will kill the pollen before it has chance to work.

ive already pollinated one plant. i removed her from the flower room....and used a small brush and applied very carefully to only one branch. i then put her back in the flower room. i dont mind if a little stray pollen gets away...hopefully alot didnt. is it really necessary to cover plants and spray them down etc etc? im only applying a very little.

Wont matter if u dont mind a few stray seeds...It is only the buds that are touched by pollen that are affected, the rest will be same sensi as usual. I have pollinated girls with pollen from 8 diff males(dusted branches in thin paper bags) many times and still got Sensi on half the plant... Luck'n'Lumens JBo ;]

I've read that seeded buds are just as potent but the yield on those buds is less. Good weed still but less of it and seeded.

great advice everyone, i just pollinated super silver haze and bubba kush. how long till i can spray plants to kill pollen and turn fans back on?

When I pollinate I only dab a little bit of pollen on the bottom branches and it doesn't affect the potency at all. The seeded buds are just as potent as the unseeded buds on the same plant, and the buds from the pollinated plant are just as strong as an unpollinated plant in my experience.

I've done it exactly as Elevator Man described for the past 23 years. Except I leave the "pollen bag" on for 24 hours. I don't believe the rest of the plant is completely unaffected, though. The rest of the branches continue on as sinsemilla, but not with the same vigor as before. It takes a couple weeks to notice the slow down. But, as the plant channels energy to producing seeds, the rest of the buds slow down a bit. I'm talking about seeding an entire branch and producing 300-350 seeds. Not just a light dusting. I always choose the best, most vigorous specimen. But, over the next 5 weeks, other plants catch up to and surpass that plant in vigor. In plain English, I seed the best plant, but at picking time it's no longer the best plant. Still a good plant, but not what it would have been without pollination. It's well worth the small sacrifice.

No, the pollinated buda aren't worth smoking IMHO. I clean the seeds out and and add the bud material to my "Hash Trash". I smoked a lot of it over the years, but I don't anymore.

I pollinated my entire plant by shaking the male onto it 4 weeks from seed on a 12/12 cycle. It appears that most of the 50-100 calyxes present are swelling up and the pistils are turning orange. Does that mean fertilization has occurred? and will it keep producing sin semilla buds from now on?

Could you pollinate different female branches of the same plant with different dads and trust the outcome of each branch without mixing things up? The idea being testing out each and every dad with one female.

The village bicycle, if you will.

If you pollinated your entire plant you won't be getting any sinsemilla. The plants aren't focusing on growing buds anymore, now that they've been pollinated they're putting their energy into making seeds.

You could definitely do that, just be extra careful with labeling and cleanliness during pollination so there aren't any mixups.

u could do this no worries as long as your pollen doesnt spread from branch to branch

Huh, weird. Well there are still new nodes emerging somewhat, I have faith it may keep producing. It is only a week into flower.
