Selection and open pollination is fairly simple. The tough thing is finding spots for each strain that are enough apart that they don't pollinate one another. If they are close enough for the pollen to exchange, you can't really be sure what pollen landed where.

Either way, you'll end up with a stock of good seed.....

You can plant all your male in one area..............when you`re ready to pollinate simply place a clear baggy over the male cluster with a twist tie on it......don`t put it on to tight because you don`t want to sweat the baggy or cut of air to the branch.......then when you have enough polin simply take the baggie off the male branch....tie the twist tie around the baggie and put it in a plastic container or a small thermos works great...............then take it to the plant you want to pollinate and tie the baggie around the cola....wait a few days, then remove..........i`ve used this method to pollinate the same plant with multiple strains..........i hope this helps.

you trust pollen open pollination outside and hope not to get some mix em up seeds. pollen goes everywhere specially outside. for specifics id collect pollen and hand pollinate once.

I would pollinate something sativa with the deepchunk.

As for pollination. What you could do is plant all of you plants in one plot and once you have your males determined (pardon the pun) weed out the weak one's from the strong. After the sacs have started to show you can cut them off and put them in a petri dish, ziploc bag, etc. and allow the flowers to open while they dry. You should get a good supply of pollen. Once you do that you can bag pollinate you desired branches on your female plants for a couple of days. Once the bags have been on for a couple of days take a spray bottle and go over your buds so you don't accidentally pollinate anything you don't want pollinated.

Whatever you do, I hope your outdoor season is successful and productive.

Happy Toking :bandit:

One thing to remember, if you have successfully grown in an area, and your outdoor grow finished the season with(the desired outcome) no pollenated flowers and no seed. I would say that it is safe to say that there are no male plants in the area, hence no one else growing in or near your grow. I have grown in several areas, over many years and have had no cross pollenation or any seed problems. I always grow sativa, it works down here around 31 X 90, I'm currently into the 4 th year of my own strain, and personally I think its gotten better every year, the most important ingredient, in all my years of growing is "P A T I E N C E"

I've done all my seedmaking and breeding out doors over the years. For seedproduction I'll just leave a selected M and F together for months...shitloads of seed !! But the special projects are collected pollen and hand pollination only.Last season I put a special Female cutting out late and hand pollinated from an indoor flowering male. What I got was about 100 fully mature healthy beans.Which have since been grown out indoors with all the traits I was hoping for.I really think outdoor beans are the best ones to have..just remember to give them about 2months of drying time for the best results..

you can't grow sensimilia in my area no matter where u take it outdoors....to much ditch weed....unless u want dc x ditchweed....then u can grow them seeds next year and get (dc x ditchweed) x ditchweed. after 3-4 seasons you'd basically be growing ditchweed...i've seen to many local strains go from dank to bunk in a couple seasons. thats why when i make seeds i do it indoors by the 1000's and never regrow seeds that i find in my outdoor buds....i'm sure it's different in other places but i think we are the ditchweed capitol of the world around here.
