Im looking to start my own mothers and was wondering wot the best method soil or hydro, bubbler buckets or what!?

depends what you are doin with it. How many clones do you need per batch? Do you even need a mother plant? How bigs your space

yup, I agree soil is the safest,
I was more talking about growing technique with the questions above.

I use soil for my moms, and clones get put in hydro set up. Soil is much easier for moms,

Save you a lot of time, space and hassle. I keep mums in both hydro and soil. They're ALL bonsai though.

top it, then top it again, then start training it to grow parallel to the ground. Don't be afraid to get creative in training it.

training is a good tip Darksith, i have seen mom's grow horizontally along walls to maximize space and shootings. Also use 5 gallon pots for mom's you'll want large pots for getting enough shoots for cuttings.
