I picked Colombian/Mexican sativas. Probably the #1 source for bagseed when I was growing up. Lots of good homegrown in this area came from those beans.

Some of the strains you list aren't strains but merely geogpaphic areas where MJ grows. You need to narrow it down more for it to be an authentic poll on influential strains. IE- Lemon Thai, Choc. Thai, Oaxacan, Acupulco, etc. And you left out weeds from Africa. These have heritage value as well. Rethink this before you get frustrated at some of the answers you're going to get. Skunk #1 is actually a hybrid of a very skunky Afghani and a very skunky Mexican. Blueberry is a special Thai X Afghani. Keep in mind that some of the "Strains" you list are names for Hybrids and may not be considered a true cannabis "Strain" by some.

So maybe i should have said varieties or strain/hybrid, lets not split hairs. This was just intended for fun :)

Peace

"Rethink this before you get frustrated at some of the answers you're going to get." We're OK on this right? Or do we need to have a sit down and clear some things up. JK. All is good. I deleted the obnoxious post. Peace Herb

I voted for skunk

I voted for skunk

Skunk not because of It's a great influence as a cross, but more so because once you smoked It you never forgot the smell
and taste. It's the total package. Little sativa high, great smell and taste. But does it have a stone :)

I voted for SK#1 too.

It was the first truly successful hybrid and probably the most prolific as well.

id imagine so, there is good and bad in all things, so i spose u could, theoretically grow a shitload of crappy seeds, and find a gooid, exeptional individual, but then again, i know fuck all about breeding, lol

Skunk#1 was a strain developed by original big time cash croppers and wasn't available for hobby breeders until around 1985 or so.........around 1986 Northern Lights, via The SeedBank of Holland, entered the scene and really hasn't looked back. This strain is the most influential strain in the history of breeding. Whether or not people used it in their breeding regimen didn't matter, it was the phenotypic description of this strain alone that made it the cannabis prototype for cash croppers and hobbyists alike.
The internet succeeded in catapulting this strain into the stratosphere....even today, this strain is the most highly suggested strain for beginners as well as growers worried about stealth....happily there seems to be a resurgence of sativa strains. ......and blah blah yippity yap.

we were all smoking hash and imported weed, homegrown was hardly worth smoking here 'till the skunk came along and changed everything !! - SKUNK #1
