Yes i would definitely encourage scrog. From what ive seen, the higher yielding pc grows havent used soil but either hydro or aeroponics.

No pics there mate, I'm currently learning scrog aswell, going for soil. going to be my 1st grow.
-Edit Now showing, I think the lights are too far away? but unsure.
Hes got 2-27 watt cfl tube style and 1-27 reg. cfl. He just moved them down under the rack a cpl days ago, they were 1-3 away for first 3 weeks.

Would a 50w HPS be better than the 3 cfls?
I don't think so, it would be more light but also more heat. I don't feel HPS are worth it until at least 150w's. That's just my opinion, I'd rather have lower temps and closer lights, than more light and higher temps. If anything I'd just get a few more CFL's, maybe a 42w or if you can, upgrade to PLL's.

Is that an LED fan in the door? Make sure you don't run it at lights out, if so. Ideally you want your plants closer to the lights.

yeah it is a 80mm. ive got it hooked up to the same power strip as the lights which are on the dig timer, also the led fan in the powersupply suckin the heat from the bulbs. do the plants look healthy?

In regards to flipping, what are your plans at this time? I see a scrog screen but it doesn't seem used. It also doesn't cover your whole area. But if you plan to scrog, you should get them trained first and see how they go covering your screen area, then you will know. I'd guess that's a comfortable week or two away. The main thing is to start filling that screen.
