@ canadians

BC is cracking down and if you use more then 93kwh usage that automatically can issue a warrent making a BC out of the question.

Alberta ive heard is hardcore in detection of grow ops using Thermal Imaging.

Question is whats the safest provence somebody to go where somebody can do more then 2-3 thousand watts at a time and not worry about either there electric bill or hardcore thermal imaging?

all the baseboard heaters in my house in winter alone must draw in more than 3 thousand watts and ive never had any police at my door. why would they knock on your door when they have residential homes all over drawing in 5000+ watts and they're not all growers

Saskatoon boy here

I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
I have a few Buddys with 10-20 plants on the go, nothing huge. I have only herd of like 3 grow in the last year and a half getting takin down, all for 100+ plants.

I know how weed is takin here, and its pretty light. I my self have been busted by cops with dope 3 times, once with a Zip. I to this day have a clear Rap sheet.

SK we have two thermal Aircrafts one in Regina and one in Saskatoon, citys of 300,000 people lauched May 25, 2009.
They only bring it out when prior suspicions for growing, tips and what not. Its very rare to see the helli in the sky.
Anyway They are pretty easy on the small growers and smokers here.

Although Saskatoon is where marc emery got arrested for passing a dube. "coppers just trying to prove a point" Very libral Prov tho.

Really?

You guys really have to deal with electric companies and thermal air detection?

Wow.... :(

Really guys, Dont grow 100's of plants?! most big grows here are organized crime.
Im not down for organized crime.... I am down for growing my own herbs/veggie, so are the cops i think they leave you alone if your not growing in mass.

I had a friend 2 years back get the cops called on him for growing, his landlord found his 5 larg plants. Cops came, cut them down and wrote a warrning. Soo just keep it on the DL, dont grow more then 20 plants. done deal

Who moves provinces for a 4K grow? I'd rather run 2 different locations than move several thousand kilometers... if you're in Van I understand being a little paranoid, why not move to the interior.. of course I have no idea which part of BC you're in but you're no better off anywhere else, and the weather is only going to be harsher anywhere else!

When you sign up for your electric account, just tell them you're a welder! ;)

haha, 95kwh a day is what its saying, thats pretty big show. if you have 4 1kw you are using 48kwh if you are on 12/12. Now think if you are using 600w lamps. the number gets even smaller. This is to bust the organized crime peeps that are running 10-30 1kw lamps. Im not worried about this living in BC.

All this law is gonna do if they actually start enforcing or using it is gonna make people steal power again. Im an electrician and I have a trick that will cut your billed usage down by 80%, and there isn't any cutting open walls or anything. But everyone I know just pays for their power, and their bills are $500 a shot. Better to pay than to steal, but if they wanna force the big boys to do that, they are gonna.

The 93kw/h thing is for Vancouver but if you wanna say its for all of BC fine, less people growing here the better its already swamped. If your area doesn't have an EFSI team or your not on BC Hydro your good to go. That article is old news btw. Stay out of the cities and residential neighborhoods and there are no reasons for them to be concerned about fire hazards.

nah, you use sugar! j/k Im an electrician, and I have access to hydro seals. You cut the seal, pop the meter, then put in a bypass behind the meter, put the meter back in and put on a new seal. Bobs your uncle, but if they come looking you'll get caught. I don't do it myself, but Ive done it for peeps.

If you want to get more replies, I suggest posting in the Canada forum. I would imagine Dr. Dog and others have some input on this matter!!!
