Visually, when to flush?

Im coming along with my bagseed plants, things are actually turning out good so far, and I think Im about ready to flush. Im running them in 1 gallon DWC pots, about to start week 7 from the time they showed sex, and I planned on doing a 2 week flush. Being that I dont know the strain, what should I look for to tell me to start the flush? Just as the trichs start getting cloudy? Maybe when most of the pistils are starting to turn orange? I realize its gonna be a guess no matter what, but want to know from others experience.

When I see the pistils beginning to change color I start paying attention the the trichomes. It all depends on what you want your end result to be. It's kind of a game of timing. When I see most of the trichomes are milky I'll give it a 7 day flush. This usually leaves me with 10% amber and 90% milky. The results vary though. I keep a log though so that I can plan better for the next crop. Good luck man!

you got the seeds from a bag of weed? sounds to me like you are there, if you say 7 weeks in from the time of sex that don't tell us much. How many days/weeks did it take to show sex? the strain should finish from time of flip to harvest in 7-10 weeks generally speaking.

when looking at the trichomes with your magnifying glass you want to start your flush as soon as you see 1 turning cloudy if you want to do a 2 week flush. Don't be too late or you will loose potency or have to harvest earlier than you wanted with less of a flush. Generally though I only flush for 7-10 days. Sounds like you might be too late already if you 7 weeks in from time of showing sex. I would be looking close after 6 weeks from time of flip. If you want max THC you should start a 10 day flush when you see around 30% of trichomes becoming cloudy.

I only ran bagseed as a test run through my cab, will be taking clones from a few mothers once I harvest this run. Heres a pic of my main cola from about 4 days ago

Smaller buds at the bottom are starting to turn orange, but not the top buds just yet.

I flush when I know that most of the bud growth has finished... all of the remaining food in the plant carries it through till harvest.

I would prefer taste over yeild though.

I doubt you miss much weight if you start flushing in a week.

In soil I start flushing when new growth slows down, and I'm just waiting for them to mature and put on weight. But there is many minerals left in the soil. You can flush for weeks and still have P enough. Soil doesn't store much N though .

In hydro 7-10 days with no nutes is pretty normal, but if you use hydro flushing fertilizers like ripen from GH, containing P, Mg, I and K without any N, you can flush for more weeks with no negative effect just like soil, and get them nice low on chlorophyll.

start your flush when the pistles start to turn, calaxs enlarge and trics start to get cloudy.

NO sign of the calaxs on your plant, you'd have 2+ weeks of HIgher PK feedings before final flush, heres a BIgBud at 6 of 10 weeks after a small flush after 1st week of PK another 2 weeks of PK then flush.

i have a w rhino with simular traits, clasic indica bud shape it calaxs swell later but mature faster in weeks 6/7 of 10.



w. rhino wk 6 of 10 still atleast 3 weeks to go.


White widow 6 of 12/14 weeks.
This strain takes abit longer being fed from the same res you can see the widow is not as mature at the 6wk mark. IT could come flying home like the rhino does but from the couple of times i have flowered it felt under done and wished i left it a week longer so may be slow or decieving weeks 10 through 12/outdoors 14 weeks.



thats the easily spotted differences in flower onset and duration of these 3 strains. until you have grown your strain and even pheno a few times its only a guess we can take from own experience for you.. i wouldnt consider backing off the nutes for 2 weeks a teo day flush mid PK is a good idea if ec is and been high.

Hope you can see the pistles thining and calaxs exploding within days with that come the bulk of your frosting

I have a small plant that looks to be about exactly as far along as the OP. I was going to start flushing it for two weeks today, but from what you guys are saying, I think I will fertilize for two more weeks and then start to flush.

that bud is very immature and I'd veg it for at least 3 more weeks (if not 4) - before flushing it. Theres nothing better then properly matured buds
