Nuggetshinner's Golden Cindy:

Only 3 beans were sprouted, 1 was uncared for and died, the other two have turned out to be male...

In my opinion, at just shy of two weeks into flower, male #1 was looking VERY good. Excellent structure and great smell, and really abundant and tight formations of pollen sack clusters...If I didn't have 18 more of these seeds, I'd have been keeping a clone of him to do a test pollination...

Peat's Sour Rhino

Also sprouted 3 of these seeds, of which 1 died...once again leaving me with 2 males...

There is a pretty good story to tell regarding one of these males, but that will not be told until later. Honestly, the smaller of these two males, #2, was really the stinkiest plant in the garden, but it was also the most unhealthy....I really didn't care for the structure of either one though, and doubt either would have been kept around...

Karma Genetics Happy Brother Bx1

Also sprouted 5 HB Bx1 at the same time, and true to the nature of this run...lost one seedling. Of the remaining 4 plants, all have shown sex as female...

Happy Brother Bx1 #1 **(now a confirmed Sour Rhino)**

Now all four of these are female, and as you can tell, they have been under a bit of stress, and they have suffered a bit. Two of these females were obviously topped and it doesn't seem they really enjoyed it all that much...lol. I have to say though, out of the group, #4 looks to be the winner. It already has a slight golden layer of fuzz when the lights hit it right...a good sign. Only time will tell...

During a transplant there were two plants that got slightly mixed up...and while I thought I had them labeled correctly, it is possible, that the plant labeled Sour Rhino #1, that was a male, may in fact be a Happy Brother Bx1 male, and that would mean that the plant labeled as Happy Brother #1, might actually be a Sour Rhino female.

The plant does heavily resemble the one known Sour Rhino male, as does the male in question, resemble much more the Happy Brother line...so it is possible and at this point, I am assuming likely, that a mistake was made when labeling...time will be the final judge. I did take pictures of the leaves of the plants in hopes that perhaps you all would like to join me in the guessing game!

Here are the two plants that were possibly confused and cross labeled...

Now just scroll up and look at the previous pics of all Sour Rhino and all Happy Brother...and tell me what you think!!

This is exactly as I expected...the way the plant looked, grew and responded to conditions was exactly the same as the known Sour Rhino male....so, it really made sense. And he was about double the height...which also kind of gave me a bit of insight as to the mistake...

Super glad to have two stains in flower as opposed to one....and super glad it was Sour Rhino...I was really looking forward to seeing this one in my personal garden..I suppose I am a bit of a White Rhino fan...so...

Thanks for the confirmation...

Hey df, stopping by to say "Hi". Thanks for the pm. Too bad about all males on the GC.
Four outa five with the karma gear, can't beat that with a stick!

Nah...nothing to worry about..I mean...you sprout a limited number of seeds, that is the chance you take...I will run GC again here in a bit, but I wanted to get a few other things in cycle, and then I'll back track and pop some more...

And to clarify for everyone:

Golden Cindy = 3 seeds popped, 1 died (my fault), 2 males

Sour Rhino = 3 seeds popped, 1 died (my fault), 1 female, 1 male

Happy Brother = 5 seeds popped, 1 died (my fault) 3 females, 1 male

Hope that makes it a bit more clear what we are watching here...

if not...

1 Sour Rhino, 3 Happy Bother Bx1

...

hehehehe

But Nugget, the 1 males was really nice. He had a great structure, EXCELLENT roots...super vigorous...and yeah, he had that very limey leaf color that almost makes you think you might be a touch low on N...but it isn't....Had a really nice sweet / tropical / sandy smell to him already....I probably would have kept him around under different circumstances....

Sorry I struck out here, man! I was really looking forward to at least 1 GC to show off for ya...next time I will plant enough beans to ensure the ladies come out to play!!

These plants were all cut down early....around 7.5 weeks...maybe 7. You get to a point in a grow where you simply say these are not going to do what I need them to do...and you move on to the next round.

This was the first attempted run in the current space...and you can see the suffering all over the place. It was NOT a lack of quality on the seeds or the genetics...I just didn't have it together when these were going. I have more seeds for all of these, and they will be showing face again in a very short while...
