What is up with the High Beams

When I learned to drive, I was taught, that when someone is in front of you, or you come upon a car in the other direction, you are supposed to use your regular headlights as to not blind the other driver

Is there a place that is breeding new drivers, that they forgot to tell this to?

Do some cars not come with a manual setting? they are always on High Beams?

Do we need to do something about these new superbright headlights?

its a worse issue for us bikers
we constantly get blinded by idiots using full beam
personally I'd ban cars from the road, that would leave them empty for us bikers and stop cagers (biker slang for car drivers)
crashing into us and then claim they didn't see us

I'd say its also a problem with just regular headlights being WAY to bright.
I feel like 50% of the time on newer cars I can't tell whether they are high-beaming or not because the lights are just so damn bright!
Really makes me angry... and I'm already an angry driver
Don't know what makes me that way really.. am quite the opposite otherwise

on a 4 lane highway, on the right hand side, some of these guys on the other right hand side, seem to be blinding me.

Just seems like the last two years or so, it has been getting worse.

and thats why i usually dont drive at night cuz i cant see .my car is a 93 so years of road dirt ,salt and who know what have been scrubing and scratching my windshield so much over the years i cant see when the lights hit it.they used to flash thier brights at ya until it turned into a game where if you flashed someone with the brights they would turn around and follow you and kill your ass

part of the problem now is: its too easy to flick them on without realizing you did.

or the car manufacturers could make the tiny blue indicator larger...

i do, however, like those new LED's like on the new Audis!...

i always drive with my highbeams on during the day, and often at night depending on my attitude of the day....i know it pisses some ppl off, but they do it to me all the time to so fuk it.

Think a lot of the recent problems with the "high beams" are idiots with the adjustable HID's... They crank em up as high as they go - and blind everyone around them...

I had a BMW X5 last week driving me nuts on my commute - stopped at a light, got out went back and tore a strip off him... If you're blinding the lifted 4x4 in front of you - you're aimed way too high... Buddy was clueless, claimed he didn't know they were aimable...

I have to wear dark sunglasses at night when driving cause the LED headlights on other cars KILL my eyes... painful straight up. So I hear what you are sayin....!

1 of my pet hates,,i drive for a living,,at this time of the year (winter) there are so meny people that have not got a clue,,,drive with there full beams on, dont know how to drive in the snow ect ect
,i come home every with that white dot burned into ma eyes ,,,,an other thing Fog Lights on when its not foggy....WTF FFS these people should be pulled over at the side of the road and slaped a few times with a wet fish.............

some people just aint got a clue, i wonder what luckybags thay get the licence from.

Hahahaha!! The fog lights are for the people who use when it not foggy because they think it looks cool on their cars! I know some idiots who do that, they put the fog lights on because it looks cool when their driving! Idiots! LOL

Lites on roll bars and luggage racks will cancel out all high beams.I have enough on mine to make you see spots for hours.

As far as I know it IS illeagle to run with you lites on bright and fog lamps to.

yah KC lites are for offroad only...like deer spotting which is illegal...but private property anything goes.

ive driven w/ my highbeams ON whenever i want since i was 15...night and day, and never been told not to, and passed many cops...

i think during the day it makes a difference....on who sees you.

..at night it just pisses ppl off

Alot of the newer cars are coming out w/ these high intensity lights. Definitely a bitch coming heads on w/ them. Also alot of suv's on the road and when your in a car the lights are alomst lined up directly into your eyes. I feel your paid Dr.Dog.

..in alaska ppl mount spotlights on the back of their car facing back...used for alot of tasks, but especially good for stopping ppl from bright light tailgating.

I'm with you on this DD - got a small car myself and the annoying thing is when an SUV with halogen lights drives right up behind me and I'm almost blind from the glare direct into my rearview mirror. Hate the bastards!
