Does using grow tents create better yields?

Ive seen great results on this web site from those who use grow tents, but I figured that could be due to any number of factors.

I saw a great looking tent for $85 and Id like to get it, but I dont know if it would help much.

Do tents help increase yield?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I think tents are just an easy way to jump start your build. If anything, I'd say you'd have to watch temps and humidity more due to the tight space. Of course, if you were using a small closet, you would have the same issues.

I think they are getting popular because they break down easy, don't require drilling into walls or anything, and aren't that much more than if you were to source it diy style.

I've seen people get great results with E-Z Bake oven lights and a turkey pan in a water closet...

I don't think they hurt, but by no means are the single determining factor on yeild.

no difference

its all about the area your in

you can pull 5-600 grams off a 1m2 or 1.2m2 tent with a 600 in there, or you could have a 1m2 room with a 600 in there and probably pull off the same amount

a tent has reflective material and a place for your fan and filter, which could swing people into buying them instead of messing up a perfectly good room. tents also hides light as a 1st base, with curtains or blinds to hide as a 2nd base.

i prefer using the whole room (in my dreams of course)

i just boght my 2nd tent. i am upgrading from a 4x4 with a 600 to a 9x5 with 2 600s andi can veg and flower in 1 room now. if you have a empty room they are worth it for simple convenience.

The micro climate they create helps keep the plants in grow mode. The same climate can be duplicated in a bigger space but it takes more effort and equipment.

tents are more difficult to manage temperatures in warmer clement.. Tents can also create alot of humidity. the walls do not breath like drywall or cement floors... Having extra space in a room helps control the temperature in the grow room. tents leave you with very little extra space.

This could be true also, it all depends on the conditions your starting with whether or not a tent is the right choice for you. I'm using my tent in temps of 50 - 60 degrees and rh of 16 - 30 so a tent is the right choice for me.
