Lucas formula users, why do you use micro+bloom vs floranova?

Floranova is a little too thick. When used in Aeroponics, it can clog the sprayers far more readily. That's why I prefer using GH Bloom and GH Micro.

Yes, FN does clog sprayers. I have a small pile of used sprayers clogged from FN.

And they are NOT easy to unclog.

Is Floralicious plus just like Liquid Karma from botanicare? They seem to have some of the same ingredients.

I don't know why someone would need to store nutrients indefinitely or even for a year but that's a good reason :)

I also see the pain in shaking and cleaning / sterilizing equipment. I use some 12-17(mil(forgot) insulation to line some diy reservoirs/tables between runs I just huck it but it would be a pain to clean if I didn't do that. Reservoir condoms are expensive as hella too.

Thanks both of you.

I use to buy the 1L then gal then 6gal i don't use that much in a year but it is way cheaper and i know it will last a long time.

for you guys using the large 6 gallon jugs of micro and bloom.

can you simply shake well and lay the jugs down on their sides, using the ball valve to dispense as needed?

I'd like to buy 6gal jugs to save money, but dont see how you shake one effectively evertime you need to measure up.

Right now I use 2.5gal jugs..shaken then poured into 1 gallon jugs for ease.

In all seriousness? A pneumatic paint shaker/mixer would be the ticket for this.

They go on Ebay for $100-150. You need to own an air compressor though.

i have used micro and bloom for a year, and now running out, so i will start with floranova, very excited about this product. for me its a question about money i use about 1 liter of both m and b every week. so it gets a bit expensive all thought i am not complaining :p

I don't understand all this mess about stressing the mixing of FloraNova.

It's hilarious. I recently switched to FNB and was expecting to have to use a paint mixer based on the griping about it that you hear from people on these various forums.

What I want to know if if they can't physically handle shaking a quart bottle of FNB vigorously, how do they physically handle doing anything at all in the garden or for that matter, anywhere else?

I want to say that it's roughly the same as shaking a carton of not-from-concentrate orange juice.

shaking and cleanup is the pain with the nova, if you buy it buy the gallon, good luck

Are you f'n serious?

And you chose the handle Avon freakin' Barksdale?

You should go all the way, call yourself Marlo, and complain about how physically demanding it is to tie your shoelaces in the morning.

yea, I think it's funny when people here use the excuse that it's a pain to shake the bottle. It's like saying I could grow twice as many plants in the space I have but rather not because I would have to do more trim work. It's not that difficult to shake a bottle...

I don't think any of these people have ever done real physical labor in their lives.

And I'm not talking helping about daddy shovel snow from the driveway.

LJB,
Have you had a bad bottle of FNB? Have you had so many crystals no matter what you did, they would still come back? Have you had 2 pH meters go bad from film on them? I have, and that was a small bottle. Screwed my plants up, they developed def and yeilded low. FNB did work well a couple of rounds, but it was a bad batch that turned me off.

Dont get me wrong, if you can mix well and consistant it works good and is very simple. It makes a mess, and it has made some roots look bad in the past. Made the switch to Maxi-Bloom and things are much cleaner. They have 5 weeks left in flower and look great. Still shake to mix Maxi in gal jugs, but it is slightly pink instead of diarrhea like. If you use FNB, make sure it is fully mixed everytime...with no crystals. It works good, but not worth the hassle.

^^exactly... thank you.

I love flora nova, so easy!

I buy 2.5gallon jugs of fnb, I also got the mixer attachment, could shake it but think using the mixer does better , after I mix it I then refill gallon jugs, they're easier to shake and I dont have to hear the drill, lol

Wait...What?

If using GH 3 part for coco, a 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 regime (half bottle instructions) come close to Head ratio.

my veg formula is 7.5 grow, 5 micro, and 2.5 bloom. it helps to keep my stupid autoflowering ak47 from autoflowering.

it is also the formula recommended in GH's "expert drain to waste" schedule. go the other way for flowering.

crystals? wtf...

Yes crystals! It is prolly the magnesium forming salt chunks. It was a small bottle, and EVERY time you used it you could not even suck up the nutes in a syringe because of the chunks. Diluted half the bottle with water, and the crystals came back.
Good luck, if you like it thats all that matters. I am 100 percent sure that FNB ruined 2 pH meters from the film that collects on the probe, and I clean them every use. I can tell you that FNB is not the best choice for DWC. Very easy to use, but there are better options.
