I'm not so sure they actually signed the note "Monroe County Sheriff's Office".

That undercover that went back to get the $200 from the guy is lucky that a dozen people didnt come outa the bushes wit weapons and teach him a lesson about stealin. I know thats what woulda happened roun my parts. Let some LEO's try this to me or any of my freinds.

They probably took him to the ground in order to cuff him. LEOs are mostly just power junkies who became that way by being picked on in high school. We're well past the days of LEOs who chose to be that as a true commitment to public service and safety. Those were the days when they pulled you over and told you to get your ass back home and they just dumped out your bag (or kept it, who knows). Now everything requires two officers and a baton to "subdue a drug offender." It's disturbing.

Those planes crashing into the Twin Towers were the best fucking thing ever to happen to LEO in the history of this country. Harsh? So's reality.

I can remember a time when you could mouth the cliche about how the cops worked for the We the People, and almost believe it. No more. The lockdown-paranoid 21st century superstate is now a fact of life, and with it the facts of LEO: a power unto themselves, answerable only to themselves. Kinda like the Praetorian Guard became during the decline and fall of Rome.....
