Pufferfish, welcome to the wonderful outdoors. I can help with a few questions put not when to plant socal. Yes you can veg your clones till the spring time. This will give you monster plants at harvest time. And yes you can just dig a large hole add good quality soil and plant but there is more involved if you want more out of your plants. And no you dont use the same plant over and over. once she finishes flowering she will die. Unless you dig her up and put back under 18+ hours light and reveg them. but it will be to much work. your best bet would be to buy clones again once you harvest and start vegging them again for the next year. Good luck. And baby you got one fat ass. Thats a donkey if I ever seen one. lol, what do you feed that thing?

You can take a cutting of most strains anytime up to harvest and have them reveg for next year. I wouldn't, I would just go buy a clone if you want to go that route.

If you like sativas and have a nice sized backyard, Mandala's M#1, Eight Miles High And Satori are easy plants to grow.

I would dig 2' X 2' X 2' holes (minimum)and fill them according to the "Organics for beginners" sticky.

My mix was 7 parts FFOF, 2 Parts EWC, 1 part perlite and mixed in half strength of "LC mix #1" of Bone, Blood and Kelp meals.
Half strength because of different strains, then use teas as needed for each plant.

I am in NorCal and from my experiments here, Satori started on March 15th under floros, Eight Miles High April 1st and April 15th for Mandala#1 works.

They finish approximately Mandala #1 -Sept.21 / Eight Miles - October 7, / Satori - October 21. None of them under OPOP.

This is an easy way for a first time outdoors. You can start the Satori and they should pop within 3-5 days. That gives them 10-12 days under flouros to get about 6 inches or so tall and then put them outside. Then start the 8 miles, 15 days later the M#1.
Harvesting is easy too because the strains finish about 2-3 weeks apart.

I tried starting Satori on April 15 and they took about 7-10 weeks to show sex. Started on March 15, they showed sex between 5-6 weeks.
I Started Mandala #1 on March 20th and 29th, both sets had some plants that flowered early and started to reveg. It is best to start the M#1 no earlier than April 15.

If you find a plant that you like close to harvest, you can take a cutting and reveg it indoors and keep it for next year. I feel, because of the autoflowering tendencies of SOME of the M#1 phenos, that it would be difficult to reveg. But I have to defer to others who have experience in that field.

All three can get quite tall, almost 15' tall for the M#1, 11' for the 8Miles and 9' for the Satori has been my experience, so you will need to top and/or train them if you have neighbors close by. I recommend training them. Do not plant them any closer than 7' apart if you are going to top and/or train them. They will grow quite wide when topped or trained.

This is just my experience at 38.5Deg
