Humidity during flowering?

Is 50-60%RH low enough for safe flowering?
Then take it down to 45% for the last two weeks?

Im buying a dehumidifier today & need to know which one to get, one is fully adjustable 35-80%RH (refrigerant) or one that has two settings 50-60%RH & 40-45%RH (desiccant)

Thanks!

Now I think we need to take into consideration of the size of your room and the heat your new unit is going to generate if set to run real low.

55 and below is where I try to keep mine. If I set it to low it runs all the time with lights out (got big girls)and keeps the room in the 80's. Set it to 55 and it drops the temps to 70-73 and humidity is never above 55 and she never run all night.

Some of the best growers swear that keeping humidity around 70% - 80% during flower produces the biggest, baddest, explosive growth. However, you must maintain proper amounts of airflow to avoid PM.

I keep mine at 60 without problems. After this post some will say BS but I can assure you, when I say the best growers I mean they are some of the best.

This question was just asked at another forum. I thought for sure everyone would say 40-50% for best results but I discovered the some of the top growers swore by the higher humidity.

Krusty (Krusty Buckets) said nothing less than 80% humidity.... I don't think anyone questioned his ability to grow the dank.

Yep with my current run I can't get my room under 63% for more than an hour or two, it's usually in the 60's-70's! I spray every week with Safer's Disease Control (OMRI) which helps ward off PM.

Works pretty well!

My intuition told me that 60-70% would be fine as long as you have very good air exchange, it just makes sense, as long as you dont have stagnant air you should be okay, in theory.

The placement of my grow (outisde in a mouldy damp room) i shouldve had PM or some sort of mould by now, but i got extreme air exchange going on, so ive been fine, i always suspected this so thanks for clarifying...

I think its good i got the dehumidifier just for insurance & it also purifies the air, so its good for me aswell ;)
im gonna leave it at 55% then do 45% for the last 2 weeks to be sure...

a lot of it depends on the strain of weed you are growing. You can grow in a room that has 0% humidity (good luck though on achieving that) as long as you keep your soil moist. The plant will take up 99% of its moisture requirements through the roots, so having a higher humidity in the air will do nothing for the plant other than keeping your substrait moister longer. If you have large tight buds humidity can be a killer, air exchange or not, if the buds trap air inside them you can have mold issues. I don't run any sort of dehumidifier and have no problems at all. Don't get sold on buying things you don't need.

I needed a dehumid for my bedroom anyway, got condensation/mould & running a heater to combat it is uneconomical...
To get my humidity down to 55/60% usually i have to run a 2000w heater full blast all day long, cant wait to get my dehumid!

Someone told me blue cheese is susceptible to PM, but ive been okay so far, my air exchange is insane though, probly 3 times the amount necessary
