Regulate speed of the 4 inch HomeDepot in-line fan

bought the home depot 4 inch in-line fan....uses just a regular 110 wall plug to power it.\

but I would like to have some sorta way to control the speed of it. with a potentiometer, variable switch, or something like that. ....AND NOT BURN THE PLACE DOWN! lololhahaha


any ideas?

What you have is a duct booster. It's meant to be used as an aid to your REAL fan. Axials are the least capable of dealing with back pressure. Slowed down, it would be even less useful. I'd hook it up to your system with all the ducts and filters first and see if it can do the job as it stands before slowing it down.

this fan works fine for me. if anything, I'd like the "loudness" to be lower....hence, why I would like to slow it down.

a ceiling fan dimmer from HD or Lowes will work they cost $15 or you can get a store bought one with a plug and cord for $20 from hydrofarm.

or a cooling only lux thermostat if you want that option
