KCl, 442, or NaCl scales?

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but boy did I just confuse the F*** out of myself yesterday.

I own the HM digital COM-100 EC/TDS/temp meter, and gives an option of those 3 modes for TDS measurement. Now, when I first got the thing, I used calibration fluid and the 442 type of measurement came closest to the matched ppms of the solution, so I figured that was the correct mode to stick with. but I was using powdered koolbloom yesterday, I noticed that they used NaCl scale to their dosage amounts. So now Im tripping, 442 scale says I've been running my ppms at the desired 1000+ level I want, while NaCl says Im under....

So did I screw myself? which scale should I use? and in terms of .5 or .7 conversions, which should I choose? thank you

***This is how the manual describes the modes to use:***

KCl: Potassium Chloride is the international standard to calibrate instruments that measure conductivity. The COM-100 is factory calibrated with a 1413 microsiemens solution is the default mode is EC-KCl. The KCl conversion factor is 0.5-0.57.

442TM: Developed by the Myron L Company, 442TM simulates the properties of natural water (rivers, lakes, wells, drinking water, etc.) with a combination of 40% Sodium Bicarbonate, 40% Sodium Sulfate and 20% Chloride. The 442 conversion factor is 0.65 to 0.85.

NaCl: Sodium Chloride is used in water where the predominate ions are NaCl, or whose properties are similar to NaCl, such as seawater and brackish water. The NaCl conversion factor is 0.47 to 0.5.

bump!!

I was wondering the same thing. I have the HM digital TDS-4 and it says to calibrate with NaCl. I bought this HI 70442 1500 ppm solution at the hydro shop. Its all they had, and my meter wont calibrate to the 1500 ppm..

Im a noob, please help!!

That's what I have but my meter doesn't want to calibrate to 1500 ppm.. After 999 ppm it goes x10 when it shows you an X. I can get it to 140 x ppm which = 1400 but cant get it to 1500, It goes straight form 140 to 600+..
