HELP! Tame Rabbit dumped on my Farm, Can't Catch It. ANY IDEAS?

I spied ole Lil Rabbit Foo Foo a minute ago! STILL alive!

I bought him a sack of rabbit chow and put some out. I think he is living in a Macy's box under the Leyland Cypress, cause it has christmas lights in it???

Gonna go get the live trap tomorrow I have one borrowed!

I'll try gettin him stoned on some indica, then a bright light, and I guess I can afford to replace my dad's fishing net, just hope he don't catch me sneaking into his boat house.... lol....

2 times the rabbit (lil rabbit Foo Foo) has gone INTO the live trap, only to turn around and leave without setting the trap.

Dang!

What is this some Einstein rabbit?

p.s. Looks like Lil Rabbit Foo Foo has a girlfriend (a wild rabbit)

Maybe the trap's not sensitive enough or just needs a drop of oil?

Go to the zoo and ask the zoo keeper if you can have some Lion piss. Spray it all around the perimeter. It'll keep rabbits and all other critters away. Or buy some chicken wire and make a fence

this rabbit is too smart! I can't get him to go IN the trap...hahahaha

I caught the rabbit nibbling on the outside of the trap on the Rabbit Chow that had fell through the cracks....

He resists carrots, and lettuce and rabbit chow. Sneaks up to eat what he can...

I put a baby carrot that was peeled into the bars on the outside. Maybe he will eat it and can't resist the ones INSIDE the trap.

Looks like something has nibbled on his back leg a little. poor bunny.

WILL I ever catch this durn rabbit? Only time will tell....

Lil Rabbit Foo Foo is Still Alive, hoppin around in the yard! He is now tame enough that when I go out in the yard to feed him, he hops right up to me! I've tamed him/her with Rabbit Chow.

I went to visit the neighbor who lives about a 1/2 mile down the road. The neighbor was talkin about his rabbit dog getting killed, and then he admitted to "letting the rabbits go free".

What happened was he dumped them out around the first of December, after feeding them in a cage.

Coyotes got all of them, but one. Lil Rabbit Foo Foo.

A report had come in that Lil Rabbit Foo Foo (black rabbit) was seen crossing the highway early in December. The neighbor had not gotten any other reports and assumed coyotes had gotten all the rabbits.

But Ole Foo Foo Rabbit fooled them, and ran away to my house, where he lived under the Christmas tree in the yard for a while.

Now he is pretty tame, and will almost eat out of my hand.

I gave up trying to catch him and now consider him a yard pet.

Lil Rabbit Foo Foo has a wild rabbit girlfriend, I seen em snuggled up.

And when I told the neighbor about finding the poor rabbit and feeding him up, the neighbor said "Well, you can keep him".

wow i just read this whole thread and im really glad at the outcome... when i was a kid my dad who was a farmer of all kinds of livestock used to have a commercial rabbitry... there were always a couple hundred rabbits on the farm being raised for meat at all times... it is really funny but we had the same type situation happen on several occasions... every once in a while rabbits would somehow get out of their cages and run around our yard and especially the outdoor rabbit cages and eat the food scraps that dropped through the cages onto the ground...my dad nor me and my two brothers could ever catch the little suckers and we were all experienced in handling rabbits...they are very quick to go feral and adapt to their environment much like hogs so it wouldnt surprise me if the little thing lived for a while to at least have a couple litters of bunnies...also the injured leg was prolly just hair pulled out by the rabbit itself to create a nest they most often pull the hair from around their legs i dont know why...either way good luck with your new rabbit friend lola haha

Only an asshole would dump out a pet rabbit in the yard. What a butthole.

People around here act there is no Animal Shelter. Makes me mad, so far this year I have had 2 cats, a dog and a rabbit dumped out.

I wonder if he is just sitting still after dark if a flashlight would stun him and he could be scooped up? Any rabbiteers out there?

Oh No, it's getting dark and I hear coyotes already... maybe they will eat the dead deer carcass somebody shot on the side of the road and chopped off it's antlers.

I would hate to be that rabbit in another hour or so....

shelters almost mean certain death this is same reason i make room for strays and find them homes

awww. Outside rabbit is all messed up tonite, did not see him today outside in the yard.

He can barely walk, something grabbed him by the back legs, and broke at least one.

poor rabbit. I called and called and he finally came to me and let me set one foot.

then that hurt so he ran off again in the back yard.
