Trichs all different around plant?

Have been reading that you should pull a plant with about 10% amber trichs, but my plant had some places that were 50% and some that were 1%. Most places had 20%, so I pulled it up today... For a uniform smoke, should you harvest individual buds as they mature?? Or will each of my buds smoke the same??? Some places had all cloudy ones....I hope I pulled at the right time.

Harvest according to individual trich development (take the colas, leave the lower stuff). If some buds have 50% amber trichs and others have 0% amber of course they will smoke differently. I doubt that most of the kind we've all bought at one time or another has been harvested in stages but I cold be wrong? It just seems like it would take too much time to harvest in stages in a commercial setting.

How was your light penetration below the canopy?

I would cut anything that looks done and leave the rest until it is. If you waited this long for the entire plant to finish you might as well let top to bottom all be able to finish.

the main cola usually finishes first, and some people will cut it and let the lower branches go awhile longer

I am into 30 days of flowering with my AK Ice. My plant is already at over 5' and still growing. I have buds everywhere, so many in fact I can't count them all.
Wherever there is a stem coming out there seems to be a bud developing.I have tried to tuck some of the bigger fan leaves to allow more light to the budding areas, but it's budding from everywhere.
So the way to properly harvest this would be to harvest individual buds?
Thanks for any info.:dunno:

Most likely.

Some plants mature from the bottom up and some mature from the top down. Rarely are all the flowers (buds) ready to harvest at the same time. It would seem that the best way to insure uniform bud maturity would be to do a scrog.
