What's new

HEY! i have a few questions, you got time?

i just harvested my strawberry cough and blue haze 5 and 4 days ago respectively. the temps in my closet vary but stay within 60-70 degrees F with 50-60% RH.
i smoked some strawberry cough today in a spliff and a bongload or two and it turned to grey ash -- not black at all meaning theres little water left in the buds correct? it burned really smooth and not too harsh to be honest (it was grown 100% organically indoors). i snipped one cola into a jar and i am watching out for moisture in the jar and putrid smells before i jar the rest. i guess what im asking is for validation that im doing this right? this is only my second harvest and i didn't have any problems with drying and curing last time but the weather temps and rh were very different. thanks for reading! i included some pics from the days of harvesting and some from today.

also..
im curious, does anyone know why some valid information regarding proper harvesting, trimming, drying, and curing of buds has not been stickied yet?

looks good man. when the stem snaps good, then its time to put them into jars, opening the jars once a day, or twice. nice looking buds.

Nice buds. Those temps & rH are good for drying, shouldn't cause any trouble. Air movement via small fan would be nice just not directly on the buds. Wait for the stems to snap. Be patient about that, it makes a big difference. Then jar as you would.

I don't really have anything helpful to add, just wanted to compliment you on some gorgeous buds. If my second grow turns out anything like that I'l be one happy camper.

Damn people here are so impatient...If you simply read around the forum within that ten hours you lazily waited for a reply you could have answered your own question. I am sorry that there is no conclusive sticky at the top for you yet. I am sure someone is working on it. In the mean time why not try and be more proactive instead of just complaining. Thanks

i totally hear you and you got me all wrong.. the purpose of stickies is that the information is correct (valid) and very useful. ive done nothing but spend time digging through these forums in order to make my first and second grow as smooth of a ride as possible. however, for me to just take any thread in here as good factual advice would be a fools mistake. this is the internet... just about anyone can post. information is stickied because it works and someone with a lot of experience decided to take their time and put it towards informing others. i dont want to blow months of work either by using information that doesn't thoroughly answer my questions. and like i said i just want to know if i'm on track, which it seems that i am from the other posts. to my knowledge i was doing everything right because i gathered the information myself in the first place. i just wanted approval; thats all..

thanks man. parts of the stems are snapping just not the whole stem in some places it will just crush and bend. so i'll wait.

thank you! yeh yeh those temps and rh are what jorge cervantes recommends apparently.. i really need to just order his book. i thought about putting a small fan in there but i think theres plenty of air moving through my closet. its one of those sliding door closets so i have each end cracked to allow in and out. plus a fan in there would blow directly on some of the buds because its such a cramped space. so it seems now all im waiting for is the stems to snap.

haha who says it wont turn out better than mine? let me know when you start your second grow id be happy to help you out with what i know so far.

I understand that you can't really trust one thread but this is an extremely tired subject. There are a plethora of threads on this subject and there are answers from very reputable growers as well. Anyways sorry if I came off a bit harsh - from your thread count and post it seems you were trying to be genuine and put in effort. I think one of the reasons there isn't a sticky is because I haven't really seen much science that can be "proven" right persay. It seems alot of the curing/processing aspect is derived from feel/intuition/experience. Happy growing!

P.S you are doing fine :)

if having someone with a high post count means anything it looks like you are on the right track,i like to go into a brown paper bag before jars, but thats just me.

haha no worries man i understand the forum frustration... i know this subject is all over this part of the forum which made me super skeptical. when i know more ill at least try to get something stickied that covers basics. when there's so many threads asking questions it hard to find the answer. but yeah ive been checking out your grow looks really danky man! its good to see a fellow SD local holding it down :D.

another grower in here told me to paper bag them and then a grower i know personally told me not to.. haha what does this do? im curious.
