i doesn't take long to get a plant 15 feet tall and like 10 feet wide? i had no idea...
if he planted the clone, how old was it? i will take a stab and say it wasn't 3 inches, but 3 feet or bigger. i highly doubt you can get a plant that big in 9 months from a cutting you just took.

its very possible to get these hedges if ya do things just right. a foot tall or less cuts can become these 10-15 foot tall and wide monsters in a single season.

my friends use to run jedi this way and would regularly pull over 8 per plant.

not saying ur a liar..but what strain is ur buddy getting 5 pounder's with.sure isnt anything from the boo or bay i bet?..is he vegging them for a year , like the plants in pics here?

Bump!

Can you please elaborate, Mr. Meds? Veg time, soil mix, in the ground or in a pot, does he force flower towards the end, etc.

I am not doubting you, but consistently getting that high of a yield in that part of the country is very intriguing.

Actually no veg time... He starts from clones (edit:eek:r seeds!) and most of the strains he has been working with for 25+ years to acclimate them. Organics are the deal and yield per plant is a significant factor... Especially if you're medical and can only grow x amount of plants. Time, Patience, Knowledge and Genetics!

I'll get back to the thread with the details. I'll have to ask him the particulars. I believe he makes his own soil mixes from promix and digs huge holes to transplant from huge buckets. This is from observation though, I'll ask him. I have another buddy I know uses promix and again, digs huge holes. That person has had great success (avg 2-5p) with taking jumbo size tarps and putting insane amounts of soil on it then folding it up a special way and planting one plant in that. Crazy stuff. I like to use a tractor or an ogger! :biglaugh:

I was talking about 4lb plants INDOOR. It's much more common to get huge plants outdoors. And the guys that I mentioned earlier who do get 4lb+ plants indoors only veg for 2 to 3 weeks under 600w mh in a horizontal reflector. They run AN connoisseur.

i was talking outdoors but i have seen countless indoor soil plants grow 3-4 inches overnight. the only thing is you cant grow 10 lb monsters indoors so you have to flip the lights a lot earlier or you will run out of room.

Try running AN in a soiless medium, like Coco coir or Pro-Mix... The limiting factor is the ROOT SPACE, not the NUTE SOURCE. And since the original statement was that you can't get the same yields with organics as you can with synthetics, you should understand that it's not the ferts that are making the difference, but the root space.

An organically grown plant outdoors in 50 gallons of good soil yields, let's say 10 pounds.
A synthetically grown plant (right next to the organic plant above) is in 1 gallon of medium... do you think it will get 20 pounds as well? Of course not... the limiting factor is root space, not nute source.

That seems really high to me with less than one month veg time. Any pics/ more documented info & details to back up claim?

supermanlives i think that switching nutes 2 weeks into flower would definately give you better buds than if you ran foxfarm the whole time. I dont want to defame foxfarm, the yields were not terrible and the buds weren't either, they were dense and had nice bag appeal, but in my opinion not good enough for head smoke.:smokeit:

I am of the opinion that all these products they sell to grow with are akin to the Bodybuilding industry supplements with outlandish claims etc...
Just like the BB supplements ( I lost 125 lbs without any!) you dont need all these expensive supplements, you can grow some great chronic with Miracle Grow $5 @ Walmart.
