I've had one for a couple years now, and it still works fine. I've gone through digital 600's from good manufacturers and had them drop in under 2 years. But my old 'heavy as a brick' 400w htg lamp still fires right up. For the money, I consider it a really good buy. It's too small for me to bloom under these days, but I moved it to the vegging room and run a $30 dual arc bulb to veg smaller plants and it works perfectly. Technically, I have more faith in that little light than I do with my digitals. If memory serves me, you get a 2 year warranty on the ballast and a 1 year on the bulb, how can you go wrong for $120?

That's hard to answer, I guess it depends on the room size. I run twin- CAN 6" blowers through a stainless steel duct system and two wall mounted vortex fans, but my room is 25'x15' with a 12' ceiling. So another 400w is negligible at best. But in a closet or a confined space, it may get pretty hot.

If heat is a huge issue, why not look into 2- 150w Led's? That's probably what I'm going to do when my 400 goes bad. It's more expensive initially, but cheaper in the long run.

my rooms 52 degress , i have a cool problem not a heat one. thx for the advice guys, im prob gonna run anohter 250hps so when spring hits i can still use it. thank u thank u thank u everyone.
