No News Like Good News

Now this is definitely some Good 2010 news....

Washington, D. C., finally seems to be getting the message that the war on drugs has failed.
Following years of resistance if not outright hostility to reforming our nation’s drug laws, Congress has passed two major changes to U. S. drug policy as part of an end-of-year omnibus spending package. First, the legislation repeals a decades-old policy that prohibited cities and states from using their share of federal HIV/AIDS prevention money to fund syringe-exchange programs, which have been shown to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and other infectious diseases without increasing drug use by allowing intravenous drug users to trade in their used syringes for sterile ones.

The Bill also allows Washington D.C. to begin the medical marijuana program that the people voted for, but Congress blocked.

Bloody hell... whole states are against "clean-needle" programms? I mean, in retrospective, it's something every country allows sooner... or later. Because it fucking works...

Politicians who block stuff like that should be made responsible for every infection in their state.

PS: Here in switzerland, we even give out heroin/methadone to the addicts and give them some kind of healthcare... since nearly 10 years know. It was just permanently added to our constitution in 2010. Cleaned the "needle-parks" within 3 years as far as I can remember, works great for everybody...

Maybe they will acually get their head out of their ass long enough to get some oxygen to the brain. That way they can acctully look at the Cost/Benefit Analysis of LEGALIZATION OF WEED!!!

Let's hope Congress continues looking forward and can keep re-legalizing liberty. Keep telling your state representatives how you feel, and supply them with clear, credible information about cannabis. Don't give up the fight!
