Mods bring back the CHAT please!

I don't spend much time in there but can say that when KG tried to do what Gypsy asks us to do she got bombarded with childlike banter that imo was totally uncalled for and was a direct attack on her. In the future if and when it's opened again I would let everyone know that if it happens again it might get closed for good.
Now you know what I'm talking about. It doesn't take a whole lot of sense to figure out what that vid was intended to do. It had no place here and was in very bad taste. If some of what it stated was true I'm guessing some of us would have been detained long a go.
If GREAT differences are kept in PM'S we will only do what needs to be done when someone reports it. But for HER to go in a clean up a shit mess and catch hell for it is unforgivable,the things that were said to her did justify it's closing and assure you will not be tolerated EVER.
I'm sure it will be opened soon enough but take heart in what I said and it will be much better for us all in the long run.

Wags the chat is already up and running and we're all glad.
I think we've gone through the whole story in a great detail and now its time to go on.
I apologized for all the excessive behaviour.
The people responsible for the worst part of it got banned.
Some other bans were already cancelled because the people involved do not personally insulted no one.
The biggest part of our forum will NEVER justify personal offences, specially against a woman.
We serioulsy want to turn the page, taking our lesson.
Because there actually was an excess of reaction from some mods too we hope that you all keep to do a great job using your powers wisely.

I will say an apology from you is not warranted but it does seem you understand that the forum members are the best Mods we have. If someone is doing something outright STUPID call them on it and maybe they might learn not to do it again. As shown here recently tho some simply signed up to start shit and were shown the door and it seems some of the good one's got caught up in the clean up and for that I apologize to YOU and this FORUM.
So now that we are starting a new in 2010 does Michael Schumacher have a chance in the Mercedes? And if any of you Italians got any inside scoops why the hell did Ferrari let him get away?
Win or lose F1 will GREATLY benefit from his return all we gotta do now is find a way to get Bernie's ass retired and then F1 can also turn the page and move on as well.

I'm going to remind the Italians here that every week we bin about 50 or more threads and they should get used to it.
The only reason we haven't been going thru their forum is they have their own mod. Maybe he hasn't been around, maybe he's been too lenient with the ppl posting in the Italian forum, but we have standards here and everyone, no matter what their language should know this.
Now we have learned that many who frequent the Italian forum are unaware of how this site operates, so I encourage all Italian members to again review the forum guidelines.
Next time we delete a thread from the Italian forum, we don't expect to be INTERROGATED about it. You have NO RIGHT to demand an explanation for thread deletions or bannings. You can certainly ask, nicely, if you want a response. But insulting our mods is a SURE WAY to get an immediate ban, and no WE DON'T NEED TO APOLOGIZE.
Everything was explained anyway, yet many ppl weren't happy with our explanations. We are not responsible for that, and we will deal with insults the same way no matter where they come from, by bannings.
We let your members back this time, but next time we might not be so forgiving. You've all now been warned, so don't expect another warning...
This whole incident not only prevented you from accessing the forum & chat, but also cost us a lot of mod time and stress... FOR WHAT? What good came of all this?
Next time trust the moderation team we have. If you don't then please go elsewhere, we don't need the drama over nothing.
And finally this has NOTHING TO DO WITH FREE SPEECH! Free speech is a matter between YOU AND YOUR GOVERNMENT as they are the only ones who can deny you free speech. It's impossible for US to deny your free speech cause we don't control the entire Internet. You can post your comments all over the web and we can't stop you, can we? So why claim we are restricting your free speech, cause we can't.
We say this is a FREE SPEECH site so governments know they can't just shut this site down or block it without being accused of censoring the FREE SPEECH of our members.
AGAIN, free speech has to do with YOU and YOUR GOVERNMENT ONLY. ICMAG being a private enterprise, can do whatever it chooses with content posted on this site. If we were violating your free speech rights, you'd have legal recourse, wouldn't you, but you don't cause we're not breaking any law. Free speech laws do not apply to private enterprise. Know what you're talking about before you make accusations.

You're not in Italy......You're in Gypsy's house and we all play by his rules or we find elsewhere to post. As said, the rules are not up for debate. The TOU has been in place since IC's inception, none of the rules or enforcements are new. Nothing has happened except for you guys getting modded the same way as the rest of the site....

We have discussed the story over and over and i want to apologize to you once more. Not all the people have a right understanding of the situation. I can only say there was some excess reaction from Mods BUT in front of a REALLY bad behaviour from some individuals on our forum.
I feel there is not the need to trace a wall beetween Italy and the rest of the forum and the rest of the world.
We're here to aggregate not to discriminate.
I've remarked our faults, talked with people, talked with mods, written a PM to warpese to delete this last post.
Our intention is to go on and stay here peacefully, if someone still ask for explanation lets talk with the right (friendly) attitude.
I'm not a moderator here so i'm trying just to do my best to recover from a really sad episode.

If someone wants an explanation, they can pm me like any rational adult and I will likely respond. Providing the pm isn't filled with insults. If everyone in this forum were familiar with the rest of the site and how mods operate they would've known I did nothing differently, nothing I haven't done in nearly every forum here. No one gets special treatment. As the other mods and Admin pointed out, my actions were correct. I can understand you guys disagreeing, but that doesn't mean I did something wrong. It means you disagree with my actions. I appreciate your apology, too bad the ones who actually insulted me aren't as good a person as you are.

9. Banning: People who violate these forum guidelines repeatedly are subject to banning. Once someone has been banned from the site, we do not allow complaints about it. Once banned, we are done with that individual, and no amount of complaining from other members will help. We don't need to justify our bans. This only causes more work for the moderators, which is usually the reason for the person being banned in the first place. So those who complain about a banishment, are subject to being banned themselves.
The censorship crack is uncalled for. Are you in jail, has IC torn out your tongue, chopped off your hands? You have NEVER seen ANYONE censored at IC. Anyone who says different is a liar.
Free speech means the publisher is free to determine what sees print. Your demand that Gypsy surrender his freedom is a call for slavery.
It's simple. Lie about censorship and demand IC be enslaved, you'll be banned. Follow the rules and you'll have no trouble. It's your choice and your responsibility.
In the Italians defence, I have become aware that there have been things recently in the news in Italy that have put many free speech advocates on the defensive. And yes Berlusconi is a real asshole, a true fascist in the mold of mussolini. So I do see certain synchronous events that colored their reactions.
As I've said b4, only your gov't can restrict your freedoms. I certainly can't from my desk 6,000 miles away. So don't blame us for the problems you're having in your country... I do hope you can depose your Mussolini II and establish a more socialist state in Italy...
