Aerogarden Start up sour60

They there, I have some sour60 seeds and as im sure you have figured out im growing with a aerogarden/Extra small gow bulb for lower light/Extra pump and airstone "second pump inside the garden"

Few questions about hydro i guess

1) my Ph is at 7 ish, i know thats nutral but should i get it to 6.5? or 6?

2) my heat where the plants are is 80-85 degrees F, Too High for seedlings??

3) my water temp is 75 degrees, once again is this temp going to be to hot?

Are there any other measurements i should be keeping track of this early in the game?? Im going to start a thread to follow soon, just the basics here i wana make sure i got right befor i can rekax for a little bit.

your ph should be 5.6 in an aerogarden, are you using an air stone? once your roots touch the water then you will want to turn of the pump because it makes the water too hot. do you have a co2 gen. in there? that will help with the heat. if you don't and want to learn how to make a simple one then ask i'll help you. its super easy .do you have any pics of your set up?your current water temp is ok. i am on day 35 from seed in my aerogarden, they make such a clean grow!

C02 gen? nope thats new to me forsure.
I have two airstones + the singal that the aero comes with, hopefuly im not going overboard.
Any help you can toss my way i will gladly take!

I am going pretty cheap and basic here, i want to get the best grass as possable tho "of course" i have a little to much time on my hands here for a few weeks, seems like a good time to master the aero.

things you' need:

1 clean empty milk jug w/plastic lid
1 packet of bakers yeast (you can get them at the store in the baking goods isle and they usually come in packs of 3 for 89 cents.)
1 cup of sugar
6 cups of luke warm water
1 funnel (optional but it helps)

setup:

1. poke a few tiny holes in the lid
2. put in sugar
3. put in 1 packet of yeast
4. add water
5. swirl the jug a little to mix a little
6. put the cap back on and set it inside the grow area next to your plants.

Then every 2-3 days, poor 2 cups out, add 2 cups of luke warm water, and 1 cup of sugar. no more yeast. as long as you can little bubbles coming to the top of the water then its still living. you can keep this up almost indefinitely if you keep feeding the yeast with sugar. hope this helps.

if you fill the res up as far as it will go without spilling out and keep it that way then you can go ahead and turn the water pump off now.

make sure to ph your water BEFORE you put it into the res. and if your using tap water then let it sit overnight uncovered to let the chlorine evaporate.

do you have a ph meter?

are you going to use additional lights? if so then go with 4 26 watt cfl with 6500k rating for your veg. and then switch to 26 watt cfl with 2700k rating for flower.

what is your lighting cycle like?

Do you have a timer to turn you lights on and off for you outside of the AG hood lights?

Glad to see some Sour 60 grows starting up.

How high does that light go ? If you get a tall pheno that is going to grow to tall quickly so start thinking about a plan if that is the case.

I have a Ph tester my water is at 6-6.5.

no timer, no need for a timer sour60 is Af and Autos run on 24h light.

It gots 2 feet, Hopefuly i dont get a tall pheno, i dont really have anywhere to expand, guess ill just try my best to prune short. I could rig up the light to go a foot taller i suppose.

I am crossing my fingers that this aero will work for AF im kinda relying on the plant to stay short and finish fast, see what happends tho.

make sure that you get your water ph down to 5.6 and keep it there. even though 6-6.5 does not seem like it is that much higher it is. your plants will do so much better at 5.6. i sure hope that i don't sound to freaking bossy, i just want to see you have a successful grow. much love........ you can also lst your plant if it starts getting too tall. so not really an issue.

I have been learing so much sence i joined ICM F, and i am craving more knowledge, so keep it comin.
So what would the premo water temp be? is it worth shuttin off the pump? i figured all the air in the roots would out weight the heat issue.

cool beans, as soon as the roots reach the water then you don't even need the water pump any more. so at that point you can shut it off and your water temp should be fine. plus it will save you some on $ for electricity.

dont go lower than 68F.. only go higher than 75-78 if you have root zone protectors, beneficials etc.. H202 is an option too but if 75 is the MAX temp I wouldnt worry.. you can always put it on the floor or add a chiller to cool it a bit or put the pump on a timer so its only on half the time or less etc...
I just built a aero cloner and have roots forming finally after 2weeks although Im just using tap water and superthrive, my temps are about 75 also, but pH is in low to mid 6s.. need to get some pH up and down. also ZONE or physan20 cause I got slimed.. any issues with brown algae (slime, snot, jizz) yet?

lol probably. i actually grew 2 gardens in mine (italian herbs and salad greens) they grew so well so fast that i was like hmmmmm. so a little over a month ago i started my journey. yay

Its such a clean and easy grow unit, im sure they must have had an idea. It sems to me like the Auto's are made for this type of unit. Easy to grow, dont need dark time, hyydro unit, 2 foot hood, 24 hour light cycle, nut reminder. Seems to fit the part well.

this is kinda for S_a_H gets me giddy too, cant wait till they are this tall haha long way to go.

This is fucked!!! In my city of 300,000 people there is not one hydro shop, in canada for god sake! and in my province of 1.5 mill there is 1 HYDRO SHOP! 2 hour drive away.

This shit is bananas!, B.A.N.A.N.A.S i said this shit is.... ok thats enuff.
But yeah i have herd such good things about foxfarm, cant find anyone to ship it to me, or sell it. very shitty.

i am not sure about any of those brands but I know that Advanced Nutrients 3 part Micro, Grow and Bloom work well in the AG. Thats what I am using and its working great! I have seen other AG growers use this too along with Black strap molasses. I think you can get it on eBay and they will ship to Canada.

PS yay on the seeds. I'm sure that you already know this but, do not use any nutes until she has at least 4-6 sets of leaves or for 3 weeks. you can however put 1 drop of SuperThrive per gallon. this will help get her going well.

Haha sooo Update time... My Cat got into my growing space and chewed the tops off my plants!!!

I have to laugh about this and be thankfull that he did this now and not 4 weeks in or something.

Plus, the sour60 seeds I was using looked a little diffrent then pics posted on the forum. I bought them from a buddy half way across canada, and im not 100% sold they were evin the right seed. Not to worrie tho, I was also waiting on my actual 10 seed order, kinda funny the day my cat attacks my shit i get this in an email today
