Hey folk,
I have used facebook and reading this article makes me a little nervous about this use. I may cancel my membership now. What I have experienced on facebook is CENSORSHIP. I joined a group called "You're not a vampire, you're a sparkly fagot in a tree", poking fun at Twilight movies. I returned a couple of weeks later to find that the title of this group had been changed, they swapped the word fagot with douchebag. I asked why, nobody knows, a couple of people told me that it's a more appropriate title. Bullshit, it's blatant censorship. Facebook has been a good tool to keep in contact with overseas friends and relatives, but now doubts about security and the fact that the folks at facebook edit and remove material are making me reconsider whether I will use it in the future. I don't think I will.

Sorry bout that Scrogerman, my intentions were not to inspire paranoia, but rather to remind people to exercise caution when sharing their personal information on the internet.
I think how incredibly unfortunate it is that people have to be so guarded nowadays. Too often it seems the more you open yourself up to strangers, the more you invite exploitation. While I do believe those predators who take advantage of others in such a way are among the minority, they certainly do exist nonetheless.
I like to think, or hope at least, that Karma will sort them out somewhere along the way!?
Surely there must be some retribution for such deeds committed in this lifetime.

The "Huffington Post" is as bad as the rest of them.

Not only do they wipe out accounts without warning ( and track ISP's so you can't begin a new account ), they do it for the terrible offense of being sarcastic about Israel. anyway the freedom of speech and privacy are not guaranteed by facebook(hotornot), big surprise, but if the gov't at some point bails out facebook, it might be a different story.

More than a little stunned at the title considering recent woes here in the Italian area. Was there some mass beheading, disenfranchisment, incarceration we're unaware of?

Maybe Facebook doesn't do cannabis. IC doesn't do politics. Is IC the center of a government conspiracy? What happened to: their house, their rules.

Censorship as in "condeming" ones literature.. maybe not. They just removed the dam page. ITS A PRIVATE ENTITY THEREFORE does not have to guarantee ANY rights to anybody.
