CNN Poll - 70% of americans will call 2010 "2-thousand ten"

Another friggin' poll with no answer for me to choose.

1. I'm not likely to say the word this year. I recall people asking me the date, the day, the time, but not the month or the year.

2. It's not a goddamn weed! Quit honoring gov't propaganda, and go look up the word in the dictionary.

A better question to me is what are we going to call the next decade? The tens? The teens? The tweens? The decimals? It was hard enough this decade, though I guess aughties or the naughties sufficed, though I never heard those much in actual use. It sure will be nice when 2021 rolls around and we can start say 'the twenties'.

There was no year zero...now with that fact in mind, go do some more thinking...

lol only because they hadn't been invented yet (zeros that is, humans were strangely unaware of them at the beginning). The Romans did the thinking for us when they did the calendar.

Yes it will, but there will be those who disregard mathematics and facts, and will call it the twenties a year early, as they are doing today.

Fact: There was no year zero used in our calender.
Fact: The very first year of our calender was year #1.
Fact: A decade is comprised of ten consecutive years.
Fact: The very first decade was comprised of the years 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
Fact: The second decade of our calender started on Jan 1, 11.
Fact: Many of you will argue this till the cows come home, even to a point that you will throw names at me for making such an idiotic claim.
Fact: Ignorance abounds in societies that cherish the media and their ultimate wisdom.
(the media are the ones responsible for the dumbing down of many of our citizens, and they are only out for what looks good and sounds good (read; sells well)...facts be damned.)

I've been an 0 kinda guy and will probably just say 10 or 17 just like I used to say "back in 67."

I predict it will stay two thousand whatever until 2020, after which it will be 20 whatever.
